Hi Thomas, I believe you live in the Whitley Bay area, I’m not too far away in an apartment on the River Tyne and I enjoy wandering around along the coast as you do. I have Nikon DSLR’s and also a Hasselblad 500CM which I bought many years ago but in truth I haven’t used the Hasselblad very much and for a long time now I would actually like to get some use from it now, I have in date 120 film and was wondering if you could recommend a place to have the film developed please? Great channel, always very educational. Many thanks, Pete

Cho La Pass is actually 5,420 metres (17,782 ft), so you definitely made the right decision.

Always baffles me when photographers say that “blue sky” days and harsh light are bad conditions. They might be for you and your style but some of the best photos I’ve taken have been blue skies and harsh light. Kyle McDougal and Nick Carver do some excellent photography in this conditions.

"F8 and be there" is a bit like my favourite saying, "If you don't go, you'll never know"

"f/8 and be there", that's why Panasonic made a f/8 lens and thought people would want that.

Once again, another brilliant video. For 30 minutes, I was right there with you. So chillaxing I did not want to move😂😂. Keep up the good work. Hope to bump into you sometime. Scarborough is my " go-to " place, be going since the 50's. All best.

My gopro has failed so many times. Overheat, random power off, false battery readings where it just drops to zero, screen glitches. The worst part is that it's random, so when you send it to the shop for them to look at, it works fine.

I love my landscape photography, but I’m gonna be honest. The photo is just a plus side when I go out. I’m happy to be away and enjoying nature.

For the composition, you really shouldn't set the critical focal plane at infinity.

Simon is not only a great photographer, he is also the only one I know on his level of presenting a subject, teaching and broadcasting his thoughts. It's immaculate.

Ha! That didn't occur to me at first - there's no Exposure Delay mode, because there's no shutter! I'm a commercial photographer and have been using Nikon's Exposure Delay mode since the F100 and F6! I even have it on an on-screen shortcut on my Z6ii because of that. But of course it never occurred to me that it wouldn't be needed any longer on the Z8 and Z9!

"f8 and be there" has an interesting origin story and a few potential meanings that weren't mentioned here. Thomas inspired me to make a video about it on my channel, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed this one!

That was great. I like his videos too. Another great teacher is Courtney Victoria. She explains very well and quietly.

"f/8 and be there" is an expression popularly used by photographers to indicate the importance of taking the opportunity for a picture rather than being too concerned about using the best technique. Often attributed to the noir-style New York City photographer Weegee, it has come to represent a philosophy in which, on occasion, action is more important than reflection.

I've been a fan of both of you guys; albeit a fan of Thomas's a little longer. Thomas, I enjoyed your earlier challenges with blending Photography and the thrill of the adventure- and with Simon, I enjoy his wonderful teaching style and awesome nature shots. I'll look forward to more of these in the future.

The extreme weather was the issue rather than the camera itself. Could've happened to any bit of tech if you are in the back of nowhere.

I had to comment4 years later to say that your 18-55 lens is absolute garbage. I have the 18-55 and mine has absolutely nowhere near that level of poor quality at 55 mm. or any fl. I literally think you got a bad copy of that lens.

This was a very enjoyable video. I must comment in the audio though: as soon as you split the audio between channels, I had to leave it until I found a mono output. The hard left/right audio was jarring.

Great video, and nice to see the two of you working together, The reason I really enjoy the content both of you produce is because you focus on photography rather than gear. Too many KZfaq people only concentrate on the latest cameras.
