Mine is Freight shitter 2017 I had problem with split pin bushing on 2020 they did changed it with new clutch and couple more parts for about 10k it was fine till now but now every time when I drop off my trailer unhooked my air bags raise up alloway and air starts leaking from air leveling valve and it’s takes about 3,5 min to get back to normal then I’m able to drive but this exactly problem that you mentioned it’s happened to me but it was acting like this after every drop off trailer I believe bc of the air and mine wasn’t go to D but reversed is R goes smoothly when I start put it on D it’s act like grinding and noice coming underneath of transmission then what I do is turn it off the engine wait couple min pray start back and it’s back to normal I’m really confused with this ps of shitt truck I used to drive Volvo never had any kind of problem but this problem I had is very severe and to expensive to repair!

@ilhommuminov708 sorry to hear this. It's extremely frustrating because you paid all this money only for the problem to happen again later. If the dealer tells you 10k to fix ask about a new transmission because it's a faster repair (2-3 days) then to get it fix which will take up to 3 weeks.

Driver I have a question. I was driving and a check engine light came on. I looked up the code on the dash it said 677-5.I drove for 2 days without shutting truck off. I delivered load then went to truck stop in Denver and accidentally turned truck off and now it won’t start.Im getting almost no power to the ignition switch. I put light tester on it and it’s super dim. I had a road side mechanic come out and he thinks it’s the thing you changed. How did you know yours was bad?Thanks
@MDPvideo1
@MDPvideo1 Ай бұрын
@jefferyholcomb8348 for my situation the kill switch and the pndb which is like a fuse box, was given me signs it was getting ready to go out. The light would be dim for a moment then fully light up. I looked up the part and started there. You can start there and also check all the fuses and the kill switch it's self. Check battery connection as well and make sure there are no corrosion eating up the wires or wire harness. Hope this helps

your advice is spot on. with KZfaq, you can save tons of money. the same is true for just about everything that needs fixing. it could be fixing a leak in your house or replacing a fitting or hose (tubing) on your air bags. some of the work probably had to be done at a shop. i don't know if the shock change was necessary but it's not too terribly hard to do.

I just retired after 44 years in the trucking industry. I have a lot of knowledge when it comes to equipment. Doing pm every 20k miles and grease job every 5 to 6 k especially fifthwheel . I always tell guys if you listen to others bad problems and gather info on mileage and age it happens you will have a fair idea of time frame to replace said components. I always had a list when I went to dealership on every truck I owned. I was never left on side of the road. As a matter of fact my Kenworth I retired with was so well maintained that I decided to convert to a HDT RV HAULER to pull my 43ft drv mobile suites camper. I will say this I've watched a lot of guys on you tube with freightliners go broke chasing emissions problems. And exploding fuel pumps. Wiring harness. They just aren't like the old ones for sure. I had wonderful luck with my Kenworth. I wish you the best and stay safe out there trailer trucking

For some truck owners, the maintenance on the old truck cost just as much or more than the new truck because you have to add in all the down time. Plus you might get better fuel mileage with a new truck

Young man, that sensor takes no more than 1/2 hr to change out. Also, they charged you for oil change and also charged you to drop pan and replace the oil again. Sounds like they should be exposed publicly and have to show you why they charged you for a double oil change. I just hate it when these jerks do this to a hard working owner trying to do the right thing.
@MDPvideo1
@MDPvideo1 3 ай бұрын
Most freightliner dealers will charge you for the full hour even if it takes them 15 minutes. Sometimes, you'll be at the mercy of the dealership when it comes to certain things.

2015 cascadia yea that truck has been working for some time now. Just try to save money on the repair as far as labor. I like to go with dealer factory parts so be careful with generic brands I don't recommend because the warranty might give you an issue.

Went back to the dealer. They found my DPF filter cracked and breaking apart. Got new filters, they cleared all coded, did a forced regen and let me go. 50 miles down the road check engine light came back on spn 102 fmi 18. Turned around waiting for them to open in the morning. When they were inspecting it before they found the broken filter, they wrote down “verified turbo spins freely” I don’t know but I will find out what comes up tomorrow.

Man don't go by gps that's a fatal flaw! You want to learn how to calculate based on average speed depending on distance, cities traveled through, etc. Apple and Google Maps will give you time based on driving a car, not a truck. I rely on it when I know it's accurate, but usually it's a bit low of an estimate on time.

But the loads out are garbage probably be harder out here with a truck note. It has to be a good deal to switch out for a newer truck. Hopefully brand new in your case. @MDPvideo1 8 ай бұрын
Let's be real for a second most but not all shippers won't negotiate or give you a contract unless you have multiple trucks to guarantee there freight will be moved especially going to jobsites with other people on the clock. Another factor is getting hazmat insurance when freight is already slow, not a wise idea. Maybe if I was pulling out of one spot every day or pulling dry van, but I'm hauling flatbed and competition is high. Big fish eat little fish, unfortunately
