Thank you so much for the amazing tutorial I do have a special request if you can do in the future because it is essential. It would be nice to create a scenario of subnetting an IPv6 for a specific network and walk us through the process as if you are doing the real subnetting at work. I hope you can do that in the future. I cannot say I understood everything 100%, but the explanation was beyond wonderful honestly. please consider the request. Practical live example on any simulator will do. Best regard

I'm trying to get better at ipv6 but I'm not hopefully with this one. The guy can't enemy count binary correctly. It dont go from 0-256 that's 257 unique numbers. It goes from 0-255. He's a joke.

I hope you're still active..... can you make a vid about 1 dhcp server connected to a switch and the switch has 2 routers connecting to it? please, im dying to know to learn about this one (if this is possible), because I tried doing it but only one router gets the IP from the DCHP server, the other one was assigned by the APIPA. Thank you in advance!!!

A good reason to use IP UNNUMBERED could be to standardize on sourcing an interface for logging, ntp, snmp, management, etc... over various Cisco devices such as routers, L3 Switches, etc... over a contiguous IP Block. The point of the ip block is to help minimize on firewall rules. sourcing from a loopback x.x.x.x/32 would also allow to move that IP address to an SVI or a physical interface connected to an advertising device x.x.x.x/24 so that the rest of your networks could learn about each loopback addresses. What are you thoughts?
@thenetworkingdoctors2 ай бұрын
The IP unnumbered command is used in Cisco networking to enable IP processing on an interface without assigning it a unique IP address. Instead, the interface borrows the IP address of another interface, typically a loopback interface or another configured interface with a unique IP address. This is particularly useful in scenarios where IP addresses are scarce or when you want to conserve IP addresses in large networks. But it can be used for the following: Logging: Interfaces with IP unnumbered can send logs using the borrowed IP address. NTP: Interfaces with IP unnumbered can synchronize time with NTP servers. Management: Interfaces with IP unnumbered can be managed remotely using the borrowed IP address. We also need to look at the cons such as: ip unnumbered introduces complexity in troubleshooting, management, and certain protocol support. Network administrators need to weigh these disadvantages against the benefits when deciding whether to implement IP unnumbered in their network infrastructure. Hope that helped.

Hey Laz , hello, Florida ! IS failure is because many organizations care only about sub level compliance to meet the standards. In some cases, not even that . For example , annually they hire a pen tester firm or people to find holes to meet standards but they dont follow their findings or recommendations to plug those holes. That way, they do not get fined, and can get away from spending on IS security, which is an ongoing effort. Watch David bombal video in which explains how the Russian SCADA network is more resilient than the US. I think companies do not care and put something like vulnerable products as an acceptable risk, while the boundary network is poorly patched .

Many organizations are looking for degrees more than skills, they end up hiring people who will be learning from their live environment because they are friends or family.

Darn, I missed the live show! Thanks Laz! I appreciate your help and critique of schools today. This guy is the IP MASTER, folks! Come see the workshops he offers. The prices are worth it! I’m not a rich man. If you don’t understand the basics, which most of these colleges are doing. Laz needs to open up his own school! I’d buy in! A whole classroom with top notch routers, and switches! Nothing but the best! Thanks again Laz
