These tubes are flimsy and need to be staked all the way to top. I would suggest checking out miracle grow tubes before purchasing these.

I planted apple and pear trees which are sufficiently tall the tops are a few inches above the top of the tube. The were not seedlings. I had to prune all branches covered by the tube. Will such pruning have a negative affect on the tree?

I planted pear trees two winters ago and this summer the trees that were below the top of the tubes died on me .the trees that made it up an above are doing very well anyone else ever had this problem

Plantra tree tubes are working good for me with the exception and I know this happens is bear damage, BUT the ones that are not torn to pieces from bear they are doing great. Any suggestions to deter bear ??
