I love seeing the interaction with the kids beginning at 18:00 You were probably one of the high points of their day, and they'll probably tell their friends they're now famous! I can't wait to get back to China later this year!

When I was in Xishuangbana, China, a monk broke the ice and asked if he could take a photo with me. Seeing that, others got the courage, followed his example and I had line of people waiting to take a photo with me! I should have charged a fee! :-)

If I am not mistaken, it was on a weekday. This route I took is usually sparsely populated. Almaty city in general is quite sparsely populated with the exception of special holidays like "Naruryz" or "Victory Day"
