Dialog is the single most difficult part for me. I love drawing 2 page splashes the most. I'm trying to work on stuff. I've surprised Geronimo with the animals I've drawn when he had those Drawnimo draw streams.

Getting ready for another con this summer. I always like to revisit signing and color matching each Comic. I always use sharpie and was curious if anything else compared. The pros and cons on all of these markers were super helpful. Thank you!

I am a fan of self contained comics that build on an over arching plot.

Getting a pack of new comics in the mail is such a fun experience. Going through the pile of mail its like "bill, bill, junk mail...what what's this??? OMG new comics are here! Whoo hoo!" Great way to have your day improved!

Huh, been unaware of these episodes! This was a nice practical piece of advice. A lot of first time writers need the original advice due to lacking experience but once you get some is when you iterate and understand when to break those ideas. Regarding word count for a comic, I'm kind of mixed. I agree that you can feel a little cheated in terms of reading time if there isn't much to read. I've read some manga chapters that take place during a battle and half of it is just big splash panels of attacks that are easy and quick to read. But at the same time I don't think they'd be improved necessarily by adding a bunch of text showing their monologues a they are moving at lightning speed. Especially looking at classic silver age DC and Marvel, where there's such a surplus of text that feels redundant. Lotta writing just to say that it depends on the tone, feel and purpose that you're going for. Children's comics I think benefit from redundancy at times. I reread some old Swedish ones I had as a kid a while back and it was almost like a picture book, with an action clearly shown in the panel and still a caption box describing what we're seeing. So literally Show AND Tell.
