Rookie mistake not having breathing apparatus already on when exiting the truck. It takes too much time this way…

this is the way it's done department-wide. it's called the "clean can concept". SCBA's are kept in exterior compartments to reduce the amount of carcinogens on the cab. thanks for watching.

Is that thing electric? Call me crazy but, don't batteries react badly to water? Seems like the wrong bricks to make electric. What happens when you're out for a long shift and the battery runs out of juice? I'd prefer my emergency vehicles, like paramedic, fire, and law enforcement not be limited by battery packs.

This should’ve never taken that long, each fire hydrant should be digitally mapped in software and database to know exactly what our location and where it’s located, furthermore not having an hydraulic apparatus that can be used to drop down in there and crank down on that valve nub connector and rotated with proper force and speed, they should’ve been able to have that water shut off in a matter of seconds.

it's a tiller quint. it has a pump, water tank, hose, ground ladders, and an aerial device. therefore, is a quint. thanks for watching!

@@andyblake3499 correct. but as we speak, E21 is away on a strike team and E23 stands in it's place while absent. so they're technically running two quints right now.

My son just promoted to engineer and now at station 49 in La Mirada. Very proud of him. I make sure and do as many ride-a-longs as I can and post them on my channel.

When being updated, or dispatched out in the field, aware LAFD does not use tones, if I understand, do the radios beep, or do their computers make some sort of alert tone?

I think ive seen both of those responding to a situation in Pasadena, units were, Engine 32 and 37, Tiller 32, Medic 32 and those ones.

California compliant doesnt always mean not having the tone, and using the tone isnt actually enforced

When I thought San Diego motorist was bad, Los Angeles is the worst for not yielding for emergency vehicles. Even that pedestrian didn’t stop for a moment, that captain had to put his hand out to signal her to wait.

There is a similar video of the exact same thing occurring in NYC. This video is the perfect example of the drama that comes with working in LA . NYC used one engine company, essentially one guy most of the time working the valve , finished closing valve with a second FF . LA has multiple FF’s , a hand-line stretched and what sounds like news helicopters hovering overhead and to top it off the videographer who was on scene before FD’s arrival ….. doesn’t have footage of the valve finally be shut ! 🤦🏻‍♂️

they were acquired from Vernon Fire Department once LACo.FD took over. there's a second Pierce engine like this one (E52) and a Pierce TDA (T82). thanks for watching
