I actually was able to repair this myself, but it wasn't easy. I took it apart quit a few times, and finally made a new piece to replace a piece inside the lock that the manufacturer should have made just a little longer. Still not worth all the trouble it caused us. So....I don't think any of them, any brand are all that great. Perhaps any model that has a motorized bolt would be better than this type. Thanks, Sterling

I revived a 2011 L60 Cub cadet tank that was left for dead in a pole barn for 2 years. It had 800 hours on it and needed new ignition coils, PTO clutch, belts and blades. After putting in a few hours of labor and several hundred $ it runs great. It is an amazing mower with great power. Your mower of 22 summers is a beast, you must have maintained it well. I just picked up a 2011 L60 tank myself to replace my 1986 Gravely Promaster 50. The Tank is an absolute beast of a mower. I'm very impressed with the build quality and heft of everything. Currently I'm sorting out how to make it ride a bit smoother, with how quick it can mow, bumps are a bit more aggressive when you hit them.

Get rid of the spare tire and if you upgrade to ultra lightweight wheels with good tires, you will see about 10% to 15%+ increase in MPG. The cost might not make sense but I got new wheels cause I just wanted to get cool looking wheels in a custom powder coat multi color

Lightweight wheels don’t equal better MPG. Most lightweight wheels are not aerodynamic. Look for some aerodynamic wheels for better mpg.

My father in law has this mower and it has an issue with the left motor so I’m starting look for any information on parts and rebuilding that I can find. It still runs and cuts, you just have to have the left stick full forward and throttle the right stick to keep her straight (and she doesn’t like making hard lefts). Besides that it’s still a beast!
