Hi. Can you please show the layout for the dovetail and straight joint in the leg, it totally unclear in the video. I see you have splayed the legs at an angle of 10 and 3 on the main body and the legs are fitted at that seating angle. what is not shown is the angle that the legs joints are splayed away from the main body to allow the horse to have a sturdy stance on the floor. I suppose it could be guessed at but it would be nice if you did a more up to date video showing how to ink the leg joint and the foot pad cutting layout - nice work i am watching every day and have subscribed. I've watched a dozen of these types of videos and I still don't feel confident adjusting the Dai. I suppose I'll just have to try. 😅. My blade doesn't fit without adjustment. I just hope I don't ruin it 😢

Really interesting. Unfortunately, you mixed mm and japanese units. Here in canada, I only have inches or mm. My question is : "How can I determine the tenon angle in mm ? Is 1/3 of the width could be a good approximation ?" Thx

Yes, I think it is. Four years have already passed, and the pillars of the torii are fine. Perhaps the paulownia oil is working very effectively.

Once again, I bow down in respect to these fine craftsmen, and especially to Japanese Art in general. When the finished fencing was shown, with the red Ochre laquer, and the beautiful copper cappings/cornices on each post, the result was absolutely stunning- so noble. I also loved the Shou Sugi Ban on the upper storey. The Japanese are Masters. Greetings from France
