The description is partially incorrect: This model was supposed to be the successor to the Citroën Ami 8 at Citroën and was based on the Fiat 127, due to a collaboration between Citroën and Fiat in the early 1970s. Due to the takeover of Citroën by Peugeot in 1974, it did not happen and was sold to the Romanian state in the early 1980s and built as the Oltcit with Citroën's participation in the company. Citroën sold the Oltcit from 1984 to 1988 as a supplement to its model range in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Italy as the Citroën Axel. The Oltict is therefore not based on the Citroën Axel, but the Citroën Axel is an Oltcit with a changed name for sale in some Western European countries! Please research before publishing on Wikipedia, on the Internet, in an Oltcit / Citroen Axel book and so on, before you write something wrong... as happened here.🙁

@@cars4ever_official Gladly...😉 I had 2 Oltcits myself many years ago - an early one with the small bumpers and a late one with the large bumpers. And both in white with a maroon interior.👍 Both came to Germany via Poland. Best regards from Germany

I've seen the Latvija 2203 in movies before ( like Police Academy 7) however never IRL - until today! Judging by its facelift this was an '87 or newer, obviously it reached our shores 'thanks' to the hostilities in Ukraine wearing UA plates and all. Definately a fugly yet somehow fascinating eastern bloc look to it

At 8:54 are the ones I grew up riding as a kid in Toronto during the 1990s and early 2000s that most TTC bus drivers referred to as the Orion III Ikarus. Rode these primarily on routes 37 Islington, 39 Finch East and 53 Steeles East. They were a fun ride lol.

@@cars4ever_officiali come from bulgaria, its full of mercedes,porsche and some other cars most likely belonging to corrupt politicians. but one other thing i like is how much lada and moskvitch there is, especially trabant cars. also theres this place in estonia called Järva-Jaani and theres like a museum full of broken soviet cars called Vanatehnika varjupaik

Great video. One thing I'd like to point out. The Rialto 2 came out in 1984 which was a motorway spec version of the GLS Rialto. The Estate SE which you shown us in bright blue, came as a replacement in 1986 with a power of 29.8hp and 84Nm of torque. The Rialto 2 had 37.5HP and 67Nm and a special rear axle which gave it a top speed of over 100Mph.
