Awesome video! I'm going to be doing this this week. I do have a question, do you know how long you could run that power inverter with the vehicle off and not have to worry about your battery being dead? Just looking for a ballpark time frame. Like 30 mins or hours?
@GearGadgetExperiments6 сағат бұрын
That depends what on what your are running with it. Make sure to connect after the shunt as others have mentioned. Leave engine on, if you are worried about enough power. Your hybrid system will be very effecient

@GearGadgetExperiments Thank you for the reply. However, I went out and looked in mine earlier and noticed that the battery is not under the back seat it's under the hood so this installation won't even work. I have the 2022 Maverick XLT (non hybrid). I'm assuming it's a different trim style that has the battery under the seat...

Great video, very informative, I have the same unit and did exactly what you did but the rear camera doesn’t work, I have power going all the way to the connection at the back of the stereo but I have no video on the screen, I tried finding something on the screen to program the video but nothing, did you have any issues with this? Can you advise? Thanks

Great dismantling aid vid - thanks! For everyone thinking of doing this remember, as ALL the instructions in manuals and KZfaq say : YOU MUST UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW HUB UNIT. The only improvement I would make (and I may) is to show the location of all the trim retaining pins/clips for each bit removed. That way us noobs know where to apply those trim tools effectively. Great video - good perseverance, don't forget to tie back those unused connectors and remove your SD Navigation card from the old unit (if you have one) - Cheers!

I am wondering if someone can assist me here. I watched this video and various other videos, and was convinced my Maverick was stuck as wireless and requiring an adaptor. I get into my Maverick and start playing with the settings and suddenly music I’ve made starts playing on the radio. I wasn’t connected with an adaptor. But I do have my iphone paired for phone calls to the vehicle. Has something changed that I wasn’t aware of!? I have tested this with KZfaq music and other apps on my phone and I’m currently playing wirelessly. The best part is I literally ordered an adaptor off Amazon and now I need to go cancel it in light of this recent discovery. I’m so happy that I won’t need one taking up space.
@GearGadgetExperiments14 күн бұрын
Your maverick has wireless Bluetooth but it does not have wireless CarPlay. It just has music and audio. If you want a map and texting interface , you can plug in for CarPlay or you can buy a wireless CarPlay adapter
@SketchInkRepeat14 күн бұрын
@@GearGadgetExperiments Oh that makes sense. I didn’t cancel the adaptor because I thought it was best to let it arrive incase there was something I was missing. But this makes sense now. For me, it was always about the music being wireless. I’m not so bent on having the other options, especially the texting on my display. But it’s good to know I’d have the options should I connect with the adaptor and needed them. Thanks for the info!👏🏼

These do a good job of hiding the fact that they are covers. Nice to know there are lower cost alternatives to brands like CoverKing. Though I don't think any slip-on type cover is going to fit properly compared with what an auto upholstery place can do with their hog rings and specialty tools. They use heat guns and it's complicated, hard work.
@Tiny-Campers17 күн бұрын
Agreed. Universal covers won't be a perfect fit. But I think these did a good job

I want to get a bed cover. Will the bed extender be an issue?
@GearGadgetExperiments17 күн бұрын
No issue, but extending the extender will be more of a hassle since you will have to open the bed cover each time . Plus, sometimes you can't just slide things under the bed cover because the folded extender limits how much you can slide in.

There’s a problem with the 2011 Element…no rubber gasket around the license plate light, hard plastic. So had to drill small hole to either L or R of mount to the license plate light then threaded it through. Not much accessibility but had to trim back casing to get red power line connected and used the multi wire ground connection. Instead of crawling underneath, I went up the door then into and above the speedometer then right over to the PURPLE/WHITE wire with the RED WIRE and T-connector. Went down to the floor and pulled off the sub woofer cover to find the GREEN/ORANGE wire that the LIGHT GREEN parking brake wire connects to…did another T-connector. Turned the key and everything worked, started and shifted into reverse on my Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX

Thank you for this! I was going back and forth between a Prius (which I owned a 2015 that got up to 350,000 miles before I finally decided to get a new toy)and a ford maverick (after I watched a random KZfaqr mention how a TRUCK gets good mpg). Honestly I miss my old Prius as it held everything! I moved in my Prius 3 times. I slept in my Prius between work shifts when I used to work 20 hour shifts. Sure I got a lot of shit talk but it was my favorite car. I never got good fuel mileage though. Maybe like 28-33 mpg. But it was a great car for everything. I fit my 75 inch tv in it. I fit a portable full size dishwasher in it. Helped a buddy move some recliners in it. But I have fully decided on a Ford Maverick lariat hybrid. Just always owned Toyotas and want to try something new. Plus the newer Prius are smaller and smaller and just eh.... plain looking cars now.
