They need fix your unit composition being screwed up when you join a battle in progress. I have my top tier units behind a huge wall of t2 t3 troops. But when I got to help a battle I have recruits mixed in with shielded infantry. As messed up as it sounds I usually wait for the attacking army to defeat my allies before attacking so I can keep unit integrity my way.

Yeah the sturgian bandit units are some of the best free units in the whole game even better then most army units of equal and some higher rank.

For people watching this in 2024, things have changed by now. - First, you have to add a start parameter to the Valheim properties in Steam "-console", otherwise the console won't open upon pressing F5. - Second, instead of "imacheater", it is now "devcommands" - Third, "beard" & "hair" changed to "beard - change beard" & "hair - change hair" Since this video showed up as first result when i looked up quick ways to change gender in Google, this info might also be revelant to other people like me. I have better way. Just send your companion's to a mission where the units return wounded or go for siege and let your troops in squere formation vs catapult dealing blunt dmg. Best way to do it is time when you can form an ARMY and supply this units from companion's party.

Companions despawn and respawn, you can also reroll by hiring companions and then kick them out of the party. They vanish/despawn out of the game and a new companion, of the same category, but different stats will spawn in a town. Hero made some video about it

WHY you can’t just take the pieces out and place them in the order they’re supposed to be, or to move the pieces starting from the middle and not constantly forced to change the bottom, when you wanna shift the sides around lol. It’s not a puzzle for the right reasons, just pure arbitrary garbage

This could easily be my favorite game but they have just released a beta as a final product and left players with a hollow game experience. I keep hoping they add things like diplomacy to deepen the gameplay but I doubt itll happen at this point.
