If you want to help people, put it on KZfaq. We can't get to a conference. Do a Ted talk or a documentary....oh wait, I forgot you need to make money off of us 👍😁
@StopAfib
@StopAfib 11 күн бұрын
It's all free, in our library. On KZfaq, we cannot package it in a meaningful and coherent way. That is why we spend the money to have a learning management system to put it all together coherently. All you have to do is take a moment to sign up (at www.stopafib.org/afib-resources/videos/) for access to the library, and then you can have access to it all, for FREE. We are a nonprofit run by a patient, so we are not about making money. We are here to serve. Please don't be so cynical - not everyone is in it for the money!!!!!!

Why would you not do ablation on permanent afib??

My AFib comes in clusters. I can go a month or even two without and then, suddenly it comes on for 4-5 days at a time. Always coming on around 9 am and going away around 7 pm every day. It's weird and I hate it. I am on Diltiazem 340 mg for high blood pressure. So far my cardiologist says I am not a candidate for ablation, but when I'm going through it, I really wonder about it. Sometimes feel quite faint. Excercising while it's happening though seems to calm it momentarily.

Metropolol 25mg tartrate Which is better crushing it and mix with ensure and drink? Or dissolve in a water of teaspoon and mix with ensure and drink?
@StopAfib
@StopAfib 2 ай бұрын
I've never heard of crushing metoprolol, and neither have the experts I consulted here at the Heart Rhythm Society medical conference. So, I'm suspecting it is less than optimal to do either.

Perhaps you might want to check out some of these resources: (1) Start here to learn more about medications for afib: www.stopafib.org/managing-afib/medication-for-afib/ (2) Watch some of our conference presentations on afib medications. There are many in our video library, especially among the recordings from our annual Get In Rhythm. Stay In Rhythm. Atrial Fibrillation Patient Conference. Simply go to www.stopafib.org/afib-resources/videos/ and click the Sign Up button to sign up for the Video Library. Once signed in, you can search for "Rate Control" or "Rhythm Control." This video by one of the world's experts on afib medications may be a good starting point: stopafib.knowledgelink.tv/session/d1s2-dr-cammmp4/course/day-1-session-2-medications-for-afib-patients

I have flutter and Afib. Can you work
@driventoaccount3276
@driventoaccount3276 Жыл бұрын
This is an extremely dangerous drug. If you have Paroxsymal A Fib, discontinuing Amiordarone is paramount. The doctor will try to ablate you. The doctors have found a way to get paid by blindly abating AFib or throwing them on Ami, but coming off Ami can actually cause your episodic AFib to convert to Chronic A Fib or SVT. It is a powerful hormone, on the east coast medical schools, we are taught to rarely give it ( besides in ACLS protocol) but they hand it out like candy in the west. Make sure you can’t be controlled by ace inhibitors or beta blockers, or even magnesium, orally, before you even consider it. Only leads to much bigger issues down the road; monitor SGPT, SGOT, LDH , CREATINNE, AND CHEST RADIOGRAPHS. CARDIOLOGISTS MAKE MONEY WHILE YOUR SICK. AMI doesn’t “ cure” shit, it merely blocks the channels. 7,000 pts at our hospital seen a year. One is on AMI. Just one. And best of all, your doctors can’t agree on it as well. Bet.

I don't know what to do... I have a ICD, the doctors talked me into getting it back last year around the end of December 22'. I've had it for the last 5 mths with a picc line in my arm ejecting Milrinone for 24hrs a day. Well recently I got shocked for the first time and didn't know it. Heart doctor called me and didn't ask how I was doing, she just said hello, told her I was driving and she acted surprised. Anyway, she told me that I had been shocked, I told her I felt fine. She went on to tell me about the device doctor telling her about the shock I had. The shock happened Saturday 5/13/23 day before Mother's day around 6 something that evening. She hasn't given me any xrays, any tests. She told me the Defibrillator doctor was going to call me, it never happened. She just prescribed me the medicine Aminodarone. One shock, it lasted maybe 2mins I think not sure, just know it was really quick. We didn't communicate about my symptoms, nothing. She just prescribed the freaking meds, anyway I'm scared to take it. Took the first one today, she prescribed it twice a day. I'm only going to take it once. The reason the shock came about was because I had been depressed as s***. Crying constantly about having a Lvad place in my chest, which I have decided not to get it. Nonetheless, I've been prescribed this Aminodrione and I feel like its going to kill me from the side effects... Has anyone taken this medicine and is doing well?

IMO, AF is a diabetic neuropathy. Chronically high insulin levels, insulin resistance type 2 diabetes/undiagnosed diabetes. The root cause is our crappy diet of processed food and drink full of sugar, so called vegetable oil and junk starches. Eat real food. Meat fish eggs non starchy veg animal fats.

There should be no expectation that it is current since it says above that it was posted ten years ago. However, if you'd like to see the most current information, just sign up for our free video library to access the recordings from all our afib patient conferences. The world's top experts (doctors) in treating afib speak about afib treatment at the conference. There is also an Afib Master Class in the library, too. You'll find the link to sign up at www.stopafib.org/afib-resources/videos/

I am on Diltiazem 120mg x3 extended release, I'm still in AF, so I'm getting a Blation.....I'm looking forward to it as I am sleeping 12 hours sometimes longer per day! I just wondered how did other Patients feel before their Ablation Procedure? And how did they feel after it? I'm from New Zealand... but that has nothing to do with we people feel, A Fib, etc... except I have to say I love the USA.

I found your comment about using dofetilide in patients with relatively low rates in sinus rhythm encouraging. I had an ablation 10 years ago and just had a second one in December 2022. But I’m still having problems with atrial flutter which then immediately morphs into AF, going back and forth. I’m currently taking flecainide but it doesn’t seem to be being very effective in preventing new episodes, and so I sort of expect based on my EP doctors statements that dofetilide is next, and I was really wondering about how that would play with my low heart rate when I am in sinus rhythm. They had a hard time trying to map out my atrial flutter because it wasn’t lasting long enough.

Hi Melanie, I too have Afib. Have had failure for years; however aware of the fact that my mother had heart problems, I started to eat “heart healthy diet”. I started following heart healthy diet in my 30’s and it prevented me from problems until recently when I was recently diagnosed with Afib. I’m fortunate that I have the type that doesn’t cause any painful symptoms; however eating heart healthy foods for most of my life may be the reason for no pain? I want to encourage others to eat heart healthy if you your family of origin had a history of heart attacks and early death to take preventive measures at an early age so that you can enjoy life and live longer as it worked well for me. I’m now at age 82 (I believe) due to doing so. I’m now a “great grandmother” and feel blessed to be able to enjoy happy occasions/holidays with them. I hope that my experience will help others to understand that eating healthy is well worth doing. I wish you all a happy and lengthy fulfilling future! ❤❤❤❤

It is 2022 but I just listened to this presentation. I was diagnosed in Sept 2021 with AFib and am still exploring options and considering ablation in the very near future. This was a most informative talk and I wish to thank you for making this available. I find AFib extremely anxiety producing and it has really changed my life during this brief time. I have been trying to make associations with possible triggers, etc and it is good to know that others have as well. I highly recommend the book “The AFib Cure” Get Off Your Medications, Take Control of Your Health, and Add Years to Your Life co-authored by electrophysiologists John D. Day, MD and T Jared Bunch, MD. It is a manual that everyone diagnosed with AFib needs to read.
