How funny to stumble across this video. I bought this exact car about a month ago, rego MLF383. It's still going strong at 48,000km. A fun fact is that Hyundai NZ only sold 16 of the pre-facelift Fastback, so it's one of a handful in the country

Great presentation of both cars, driving experience, really smoothly flowing conversation between you two, BUT the poor sound quality, probably due to the microphone you were using, ruined some of the fun towards the end. I took the ZR-V HEV LX for a test drive yesterday with the wife. The ZR-V is a beautiful build and finish and I was really keen to purchase it. Very quiet at low speeds. However the noise coming in from the sides for both of us on the open road from 80-110 km/hr was really obtrusive and significant. The noise sounded like it was coming straight in through the door window glass on both driver and front passenger at ear level. I spend a lot of time on open roads and it is currently a deal-breaker which is really frustrating as we love the car otherwise. So I am reading and researching trying to find out if this is due to insufficient sound deadening in the doors? 🤷🏻♂️. Or side mirror noise? I am going to take a LX petrol version for a drive to see if it was just an issue with that specific car we drove. If any ZRV owners have any comments that would be appreciated!
@TarmacLife23 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. To be honest we never found the wind/road noise an issue, but we only spent a week and not really long runs. Tyre choice may help? But if mirror issue then out of ideas. Let us know if you solve the problem.
@paulm502522 күн бұрын
@@TarmacLife Thanks! We tested another 2 HEV variants today (and a Petrol version) and they did not have the same noise as the first HEV we tested. So we are a bit confused what caused the extra noise on the first one we tested... maybe the tyres were a problem - pressure too high? Anyway, we are back to considering purchasing the car now, especially with the 8 Year warranty being offered as a EOFY special..

We rented a Jeep Compass 4Xe in the UK May 2024. Wow what car! We have never driven a plug in hybrid so we were in for a surprise when after fully charging and putting 5 gallons of gas in the tank we drove all day and only used about 6 gallons of gas. I thought there was something wrong with the car and got upset but NO that's all the gas tank held, 5-6 gallons of gas. Crazy! Drove all the way from Dartmouth to London, 3 hours, on 5 gallons of gas. The car handled really well. The only thing to keep in mind the car seats 4 but can only accomodate 2 persons of luggage.

Thanks for watching and comments - we did an exact, real world test and came up with the following. Picked up the EVX with 100% charge and claiming 472km. Travelled 188km with AC on 22-degrees, in comfort mode. EVX was left with 173km/38% charge. So our calculations it should have 284km but we had 173km. In fairness, we did try its acceleration and didn't really drive it in ECO for long. Hope that helps.
