I feel like this stingray and the grand sport are the best for city driving with the manual. That 450 HP to me is perfect, it's still a powerful car that you can still get some good engagement in a manual on. The manual Z06 and ZR1 have crazy next level power that for city driving the gears have to be very tall, it's got to be harder to enjoy that manual transmission if you rarely need to get beyond 2nd gear in the city (lol).

I'm glad you mentioned the bushings on the sway bar. I noticed in my 02, especially when it's hot (all the time lately), I noticed a lot of creaking, and apparently that's pretty common in those and maybe just needs some lubrication (fingers crossed). The car has hardly been driven, so who knows... but definitely something I'm going to look at. Driver side window goes down but only goes up intermittently. SO not sure if that's a bad switch... wiring... fuse... motor (hope not) lol... I think it's going in next week for a bit of a lookover.

Only has 4k miles after 2years and some other things that is having me get rid of it. It was a fun car but I am excited to get the GR. Will be nice to actually enjoy the rowing of gears because the Camaro gears are so tall that you are breaking all the laws by alot at top of 2nd so you can really enjoy going through all the gears as much.

Just a warning though, Corolla is incredible but did ride much rougher than my 2021 LT1, much rougher. It did smooth out quite a bit after 1k miles however, definitely more usable than the Camaro, but rear hatch is surprisingly small, not any easier to get in and out of either, but I'm 6ft 1.

Hi Brian, love your car and color, mine is similarly equipped, same axle ratio, low miles but Bright Red. I hope you can help me with an issue with coolant temps, if you have the C68 automatic environment controls. Are you familiar with viewing the digital water temp on the air conditioning digital readout? If so can you tell me what temp yours indicates when fully cold, before you start the engine? Mine indicates 40F above ambiant before starting and continues to indicate +40F as it warms and reaches operating temp. The readout is in centigrade(119) but the conversion is 246F, which I know is really around 210F (confirmed with infrared thermometer). Thanks

Nice, factory kicks them in way too high (about 230ish) for my taste, regardless if some say they are meant to run at that temp., I turn on my defrost or AC at 210, most I like to see. May burn out your fans keeping them running at all times but PCM of North Carolina will make you a custom chip for about $80, you can tell them what idle rpm you want, vats bypass, fan on/off temps etc., it's a good option. But worst case is those fan motors are easy to replace and cheap, beats doing a head gasket or worse.

with only 31k miles it doesn't really qualify an opinion of dependable and easy to work on, fords natural better idea ineptitude doesn't usually start making an appearance until after 60k miles, that's when fords become fords...

Lol, well I do drive a 91 Camaro RS daily now, dad worked for GM for 30 years so I do lean that way, like all kinds of cars though. The V6 in these can last like a Toyota, had a 2000 Mustang with the same motor, had over 150k miles and still ran great. But don't get me started on Fords, let's just say I've had more problems with them than any other, besides these 99-04 V6 Stangs at least.

The automatic prices are somewhat reasonable, but man, trying to find a 92-96 with a manual is crazy. Less than 10 within 300 miles of me, and they're all either very high mileage, or over 20k. I could get a C6 with and LS3 for those prices instead, haha.

I totally agree, it's getting to a point on a lot of classic cars where it's just not worth it anymore for what you get. I really like the Datsun 240z and the 280zx turbo with a manual, had a few over the years, now I'll never own another one, not for these insane prices:/

Ill never pay a ton for a C4. Maybe low teens for a nice low miler maybe. Dont think most with moderate or over 100k high will get expensive. Many try but at the end of the day they are cheap like an old mb or bmw cause they need too much $ to make them half decent. Here in Ca Ive seen clean 80k mile C5s for under 10k. So why pay more for a worn c4

E-town area, eh? I'm up in Louisville. Just bought a '24 CE last month. Wondering if there are any car clubs or the like for owners of these fun little beasts.

I really like these, I am an SUV guy have a Tahoe and a Suburban lol but couple years ago I picked one of these up, I have me an 85, in Bronze, was a special dealer order or something I guess, it's an automatic but that's okay for me, but everything is original, 90K miles on it, really love the retro dashboard !

Nice, we had a 2003 GMC Yukon, LOVED that SUV lol, I feel you on those:) Yeah I'm also a big fan of the digital dash, sounds like a sweet Vette. A C4 is such a unique driving experience, like they're not how you imagined it just by looking at the outside of one, to me it's like driving a classic exotic car with a musclecar soul/sound.

My Tahoe is 2001, she's got 350K miles on it, I rolled it 6 years ago but still daily it. The suburban is 2003, The replacement after the crash, but I decided the Tahoe was my favorite still and kept them both. lol The Vette I picked up from some one he had 3, the 85 a 98 and 05. They were about to be auctioned off so i snagged the 85. I am not really a car kinda guy but the Vette is really nice. It's a definite change up from the riding style the big boats feel like for sure, and I'm probably going to hold onto it for a long time.

@NotableEcho Glad to hear you're keeping the Vette, and glad you're ok from the wreck too, wanted a Tahoe or Suburban after watching Clear and Present Danger long ago lol, darn things are tanks, comfortable and cool looking too, not to mention incredibly reliable!

@@Feral80sKid hey thanks, all is well actually, it did roll about 3 or 4 times? Who counts I guess lol but no the the only injury sustained was the pressure from the seatbelt left a mark. I picked it up from the tow yard and said I was going to bring it home that same day, he looked at me kinda funny and said ‘you know it’s totaled right?’ It was actually already salvage title so I said, Again? lol Ultimately there were some minor things that how now become permanent qwerks, but it doesn’t look like it was in a crash like it was. Absolutely love this thing, have taken down to Texas and back twice from Northern Minnesota, the burban too, they will literally run forever, best investment of my life probably lol

Hey Brian! So glad you reviewed this, I literally just bought this exact car (less thank 30k miles). Sadly wrote off my 94 Z28 I bought and spoke to you about briefly last year. I tend to like the older 4th gens (stylistically), but I love these too, and I know engine wise this is the way to go. Bone stock, guy even has the original Alternator, which I'll probably get rebuilt. Hope you're doing well my friend!
