I have the exact same car, except with Performance Pack and in Borollo Red. Maintenance has been something of a nightmare but it is super comfortable and build quality is really quite outstanding especially compared to my early model w203

These cars do NOT like to sit. I would be ready to address any issues that come up as a result of that. Ie dried/cracked suspension bushings, miscellaneous gaskets and o-rings, etc.

Congratulations on such a nice find. I looked at a Rennsport CLS AMG but ended up with a C55 AMG primarily because the C55 was in better shape. I’d be interested in hearing how you found out about this one and how you acquired it. Glad to know you’ll be driving it.

Luckily this is based on the incredible W211 platform. The W212 was a real disappointment for me. It was the first Mercedes, in my opinion, that didn’t actually “feel” like a Mercedes. It was very evident that build and material quality had gone down significantly, and it overall feels much “cheaper” than anything that came before it. Although the handling is decent, its drive and road feel are disappointingly numb. Luckily it was decently reliable, or else it would have been a total failure. Overall, the W212 made me realize how great of a car the W211 really was… and the unfortunate fact that cars of that caliber are no longer made. It was the best E Class since the W124 without a doubt. I’d pay far more for a nice W211 than ANY W212 for less money.

M276 DE30LA is likely the most reliable and flexible engine out of the lot. Yes it's D-tier given the low power and non "special" factor with it, but lightly modded Stage 2 M276 nets 500+ hp quite easily, plus with one of the best V6 engine notes around, really probably more deserving of C-tier.

The cars and engine bays featured in this video are just ridiculously clean. Love it.
