My uncle let me use his 1950s Stevens bolt action 58 12g 26 inch barrel, did ok . My 1st time used a Winchester model 37 single shot 30 inch barrel . That police riot shotgun works well great content. Light and not such a long barrel.

I would definitely use this for SHTF. It's an icon and I've used them for 40 years. Even the new ones are very good for anything outdoors. I've never had one to fell, but then I don't do stupid things with them like the greenhorns do on the videos today. They need to learn real knife skills .

Can I ask where you were, roughly? I saw one in the Crouch/Garden Valley area two nights ago, it popped right up on the road and stood still, even started to approach us, got within about ten feet. Odd how unskittish it was. I’ve been up and down that road countless times in the last twenty years and haven’t seen it or others before, and asking around none of our neighbors has either. but it was so calm I think it must live there near the river and just hides very well. It took me a minute to register and believe what I was seeing. absolutely beautiful!

Good Lord, what a Mickey Mouse stove. Terrible built construction. I don't want to have to assemble a stove every time I use it. There's got to be a portable stove out there that is large enough, but you don't have to assemble each time. Any suggestions?

I sure miss those days brother! wishing i would have ordered my super cab with an 8ft bed. I would have one of the specialty mattress places make a real mattress to fit. Gel/foam combo. My back couldnt take that. duty belt and injuries did me in.

I put my fly on just after I loosely secure the four corner poles. I just use two sections of each pole to position through the fly and secure each with a tight fitting rubber gasket before continuing with the rest of the set up . Ben House

I ordered the 6-person tent and rainfly from Amazon on the Black Friday sale for a steal of $130. I bought the 4-person tent last summer and used it for a 2-night outing in August. I was very happy with it. It was my first camping experience, and I was also solo. I chose the tent because of the ease in setting it up. I used a tarp as my 'footprint' and followed the instructions - no problems it took me maybe 3 minutes. I used the Intex twin size airbed with headboard and 12" stackable shelving and still had about 2.5 feet of floor space. I did not have the fly on last summer, and although it did rain one night of my stay, I stayed dry and had no leaking or condensation. So, the only thing I would have preferred was if the tent was a little taller. I am 5'4" so my head pretty much touches the top of the tent, but this was not a problem for me. So, I bought the 6-person tent. I put it up with the rainfly on over a tarp in my backyard. I did not stake it down. It rained all day and there is water around the perimeter, especially in the corners. It appears that the black, bottom half got really saturated with water, so now I want to wait for it to dry before I take it down. The rainfly did good. I was disappointed about this; however, I still really like the tent for the ease in set-up, appearance, space and price. I'm not sure I would use it in the rain though. I am a newbie, so any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

When sitting on your cot, can you sit fully upright without head hitting the ceiling?

I have a 42mm scope. It does not fit with bipod on rifle. Pull the sleeve out of the case. Lay your rifle on top. The design is not cut correctly to accommodate a scope. Could not find a #20700. Could only find #20705. The sleeve is slightly different from yours with an orange zipper.
