the sound on youtube is usually set to max, blasting beyond belief... how bad is your sound system that you actually have to increase from max??? Maybe get your hearing checked? How does one set a default sound level to stop the blasting? Now there's something that might be useful...

Hi Colin I hope you read this, I have been your subscriber for a long time, years now, I loved how you teach editing in premier pro, I have learned a lot from you, the only thing I ask is don't fall into this adobe corporate vs people fight, don't think that the people are stupid, you don't have to defend the corporate, it's the subscriber who got you here so far, it's the viewer and admirer who watches your videos don't let them go away by doing such controversial videos, I am very dissipated at you, really wish you read this ❤

Adobe has set fire to its own brand, reputation and 30 years of worldwide trust. There’s no such thing as unburning.

At the end of the day... Me and my content holds little value compared to Adobe's reputation. So I doubt they'll do anything questionable for my content.
@alexandruciochia85135 күн бұрын
So… Adobe need to access my content to allow me to open Photoshop. And that has to be stipulated in the contract. Great. If this is a new addition to the contract, then prior to that, Adobe accessed my content without my consent? Just wondering. That’s a first. Then, lawyers speak a different language. Agreed. But when in court, you discover that all those little things you explained in plain english (not legaleese), and you laughed, have, in fact, another meaning, a little bit different. One that, in the end, could make you cry. (from my experience, never thrust a lawyer working for the other part, not even when you are a lawyer :).

First of all, well done Colin for jumping in. A lot of people historically linked to Adobe have been keeping quiet. Personally, I think Colin is not only a great tutor but a decent, honest guy. However, after all the back pedalling and PR hand-wringing from Adobe there is one thing that I can't forget or forgive. I got up in the morning, with urgent commercial client work to progress/complete and I get a crazy message on my screen saying that I have to agree to Adobe's new terms now, or lose the right to access my content or use the software: Yes or No! However much lipstick you put on this pig, this is never going to look pretty, is it? If users got the impression that corporate Adobe was being run by mindless cretins because of this, then they can suck it up IMHO. After 30 years of daily use, like many people I bought a copy of Affinity: very impressed. What I'll do long term I'm not sure but like a lot of users I've lost confidence in Adobe. Someone once told me that those bumps in our personal relationships that get patched up, were like sticky patches on an inflatable canoe. When you're coming up to some rapids you have to think how confident you are! Adobe hit their LOYAL, PAYING customers with what was - at the very least - some badly thought out stuff. Personally, I value trust and loyalty in my friends and work colleagues. Sadly, Adobe have lost this for me: it is difficult to put right. Telling us all that we have got it all wrong is not a good start, "Sorry" would be a better place to begin the process. JM

At last some common sense. Despite some of the nonsensical comments here. Sick of KZfaqrs jumping on a bandwagon that thinks it, at last, has found an excuse to bash a hugely successful - and talented - software firm. The amount of hypocrisy I’ve seen on YT over this doesn’t surprise me, however. If you don’t like the TOS, don’t agree to it and go take your business elsewhere. Simple. As I’ve said elsewhere, if I ran a business where there was risk of the public uploading child pornography to MY servers, I’d want the right to interrogate my drives. University of KZfaq versus trained lawyers. I rest my case.
@AviatorAddis5 күн бұрын
Privacy is it's own matter. In short, if you want privacy, keep your stuff off other people's servers (cloud AI and storage) period. It is illegal for a platform to "hold" child porn content. Why is that? It allows content to be searchable and viewable by anyone who holds the content, and it never has to be disclosed. It's an almost as sick backdoor that has been abused. There are plenty of false positives. It is very broadly drafted by lawyers. Vagueness is a feature. The problem I have is the law allows them to do what law enforcement can't. The DHS routinely buys data from brokers usurping the law with no accountability of the 4th amendment. How many times have cell carriers apologized when it comes to light just to do it again. The very fact they are reaching out to social media to damage control is pretty funny having bamboozled themselves with giving proper "notice".

Adobe OWNS everything you create when you use their “tools” and they can do this - like Apple, Microsoft, Google - because it’s stored on THEIR “cloud” there is NO right to “ownership” because ALL three of those corporations have turned over your PI dat to the government upon mere request w/o notification to you! There are court cases on all these events and none have received the definitive Supreme Court decision to re-affirm our 1st and 4th amendment rights. T-Mobile just joined these three (now four companies) and their wording is “hate speech” which can be ANYTHING the corporation deems applicable in any future circumstances… as of January 1st 2024

With you not being a lawyer, I will not take your word for or believe your interpretations. With this having gone to a federal lawsuit, there is definitely a problem you are skipping over.
@LarryK-jg6iw4 күн бұрын
I've just read the federal lawsuit. You should, too. It's very easy to understand. The Federal Trade Commission is suing Adobe for its alleged illegally complicated and confusing subscription contract for Creative Cloud services. This may very well have been brought on by the rash of cancellation attempts and the application of "Early Termination Fees" ( ETF) inspired by subscribers reacting to the "new" terms of service implemented by Adobe with regard to certain content being used for research and product improvement in the field of artificial intelligence, among others. The point is, the FTC lawsuit HAS NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH USER CONTENT OWNERSHIP OR ADOBE'S CHANGES TO ITS TERMS OF SERVICE. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ISSUES COLLIN IS ADDRESSING IN THIS VIDEO. If Collin is "skipping over" the FTC lawsuit, it's simply because the lawsuit is in NO WAY related to the PRIMARY issue of why people are running around shooting flaming arrows at Adobe as if their own hair was on fire. There are two very different things going on here. Try to understand at least one of them.
@joefilter29235 күн бұрын
Yes, of course we own our content, but Adobe assumes a sublicense, which is entirely the problem. If you do not discuss this explicitly then there is no point to speaking. Do we really need someone outside of Adobe to explain what adobe means. Perhaps if you were a lawyer it might be more plausible. Why wouldn’t Adobe explain all this from the beginning?
@joefilter29235 күн бұрын
Oh great another view from an Adobe evangelist! Oh, I mean ex Adobe. Some people take a somewhat extreme view of the situation, making the worst of it, but most people seem to want to know the facts of the matter and it’s still cloudy.

For sure. I don’t think it has much to do with the things in this particular video though. I do, however, hope Adobe loses that lawsuit.

Very interesting that you explain legal things even though you say you are not a lawyer. The fact that it is even necessary to explain terms and conditions to stupid users is quite a thing, you may even be doing it on behalf of Adobe. Adobe is forcing every stupid user to accept the terms and conditions, even though they obviously know that nobody understands them except lawyers. But it's not just Adobe, it's all the big techs.
