Jesus said there will always be poor people. The real reason for poverty is not enough people truly love their neighbor as themselves. It starts with each of us as an individual. I hope all who read this donate food to local food banks on a consistent basis rather than just pointing the finger of blame. During the Great Depression, neighbors took care of each other and did what they could for each other and their families. We now live in a time where even food is being politicized. That won't solve anything and is only making things worse. I urge all of us to grow a garden this coming Spring, however small, whether you own a home or rent. There are thousands of videos online on how to garden so there's no excuse! Eat what you grow and share your extra with neighbors, family and friends. Take responsibility and help another. : )
