FANTASTIC video !! what they don't say is the name of inventor, very probably Mr MAUREL in France ! worked for SIMCA and later for Chrysler 2L engines at JRD very small company for racing engines, Maurel still at work at company named .... MAUREL !!! ( of course it means MORE ELEC !!) them idea went to SEV marchal company ( Société anonyme pour Equipements Electriques de vehicules) and brevet déposit in USA in 1971 ( the first invention is about 1950's for jets engines ignition) Wikipedia says the first car equipped with integral electronic ignition is the Citroen VISA, 1978 but it is ... false it is the "chrysler 2litres" (or Hillman or plymouth cricket or talbot avenger or SIMCA 2000) same hugly car equipped since 1976 on 2 litres version with the complete system the VISA came out 1978. anyway, this application on cars is french ! 😏 ( héhé yes it is ) for cars

Just built and installed one on my 65 273 Dart GT.Did a top end swap using the TQcarb and intake with a set of J heads on a .30 over bore.

Thanks for the upload. Do I really need the special tool for the kickdown/throttle pressure lever, or can I hold the lever all the way forward while making the adjustment? I'm working on a '74 Dodge Monaco with a 440 and a 727, all original linkages.

That the transmission cooler circuit fluid pressure is so low that the 12-14 psi max of coolant pressure in the radiator can force coolant into the trans fluid instead of trans fluid into the coolant shows just how "bulletproof" and "heavy duty" the TorqueFlite "family" is and how much "engineering" really went into the "modern" TorqueFlites as they "evolved" from light-duty passenger car slushboxes "developed" before Chrysler had pressurized and "sealed" cooling systems with "high pressure" radiator caps and "overflow containers" aka expansion reservoirs. That "always in gear" TorqueFlites are constant-slip automatic fluid cookers waiting to happen in any and all "heavy duty" applications and situations but also have "issues" with "cold" fluid and "respond negatively" to "overcooling" and need a "trans heater" in "artic climates" is more proof of how "legendary" they really are. TorqueFlite fantards should look up legendary in the dictionary to see how right they are but for all the wrong reasons. Being "legendary" is not synonymous with being "great" or otherwise excellent in "performance" as a "total package".

There is a GLARING omission from this video. WOT. You have to check the throttle to ensure WOT at the carburetor is achievable after final adjustment using the method described in the video. If not the Kick Down/Throttle Pressure linkage could prevent the carburetor from reaching full throttle. I've seen this so many times it is the first thing I look at on any automatic equipped Mopar when engine power is at issue. I've found that putting the throttle at WOT position and then making sure the KD/TP linkage and the carburetor throttle pin/arm both reach maximum travel at the same point achieves the correct adjustment much more easily and directly. Other than that everything in the video is correct.

The creation of the hallafect switch.

Having problems making my 73 Duster start. It has headlight on and working lights the oil light came on a little but went off. But when I turn the ignition switch (steering wheel apart) nothing happens but the alternator gauage going down a little bit much then back up to normal. Has a new: battery, ballist resistor, starter ignition relay, ignition switch inside the steering wheel, and ignition control circuit, My dad got the car to turn over and start by using a screwdriver on the starter . I tapped the starter with a hammer to see if that would help... nothing. I have a manual so I press the clutch down and start the car in Neutral right? But still no crank. What am I doing wrong!? Any help would be greatly appreciated
