A FINE TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT AIRMAN OF ALL NATIONS....THESE COURAGEOUS MEN ROSE TO DO BATTLE IN THE SKIES ABOVE THE LAND AND OCEANS OF THE NATIONS INVOLVED IN THAT CONFLICT....WE PRAY IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN 🙏

Gun selection lever on throttle is very much as motorcycle clutch/brake design. 7 mm machine guns in cowl manually cocked. 20 mm cannons in wings remotely cocked. That’s a gorgeous aircraft. Wish it could be fit with original type Nakajima Sakae. Around 1,000 horsepower.

It is my understanding that due to the fact that the Japanese fought desperately until the end, (Kamikazes, ect), that there are not very many Zeros left. Is this correct. I am proud to be the son of a WWII veteran who served in the Philippines, New Guinea and Okinawa.

Was waren die Japaner mal für ein stolzes Volk. Wie wir Deutschen. Jetzt ist nicht mehr viel davon übrig geblieben.
A most beautiful and elegant design...clean lines and with a deadly purpose... War demanded those qualities ...must be a joy to fly....

A fun airplane to fly unless a competent enemy has the temerity to shoot back at you. Kudos to the masterful restoration job: better than original by a long shot with new engine, materials, protective chemicals, and modern fluids and fuel. Those master mechanics can work wonders. Performance must be exquisite without the weight of guns/ammo. I played with the rebuilt model at Mitsubishi in Nagoya and the canopy hit me in the nose, so not the most comfortable. I believe the average height of Japanese soldiers in WWII was under 5’4” due to centuries of poor diet, so if you’re short this is totally the plane for you!

@エムエスジェイを潰すアンマンパン Then that’s the plane for you! My Japanese wife is 172 cm, but she eats A LOT.

@エムエスジェイを潰すアンマンパン /. A fine Japanese woman on every level, and she tolerates me… an illiterate (Nihongo) barbarian! Actually, I’m an extremely over-educated barbarian who has studied 7 languages… but don’t tell her!
