Excellent nation management overview. Trying to decipher the nation screen has been my biggest hinderance in doing well so far. You've basically covered every aspect that I was most confused about. Knowing this i now understand why my fully controlled united states is on the verge of civil war v2 lol

To maximise your tech tree options, do a little math so you know when it is impossible for another faction to pip you to being the lead. As soon as that becomes apparent then you can pull all your tech from that research and put it into another where you can can catch up the lead, or sink it into the lower section for internal engineer works. The AI has to put its research into something so don't worry about all the factions suddenly pulling out as you have because they can't catch you. This is also how the AI seems to operate, where it will consistently monitor the options and drop tech to switch focus in order to dominate a tech. I successfully dominated 2 of the 3 research options for years concentrating on denying factions that I opposed.

just getting into the game, i choose the easy way ruling France to absorb my neighbors, do i need to maxout there mission control and build their own spaceprogram before absorbing them? or is it like the max. mission control for a region is kept and i can build it after absorbtion regardless?
@sari4tune
@sari4tune 6 ай бұрын
@@PhotonwindGaming in the meantime i stumbled into the answer, MC is capped per Region (not country) each one has slightly different number, if absorbing a country before build its max capacity, it is not a loss at all, as absorbing a country is absorbing their region(s) which have their already or non installed MC, it is shown in the nation overview region tab, where you also see claims.. so the answer is there is no loss, but building it before absorbing might be faster, as it is build everywhere at the same time

Moon get the uranium, Mars get the gold. Ignore any moon stuff that doesnt have much uranium.. Just focus on taking all of mars
@Pilvenuga
@Pilvenuga 5 ай бұрын
it depends heavily on what kind of resources you get on your moon: one playthrough i had two sites on the moon that both had over 12 fissile base income the very next playthrough the highest fissile location was a 2,4 with other locations below 1 with those resources, spending boost to build on the moon is pretty much a net loss of boost usage in the immediate term. best to stockpile and spend on a decent Mars mining location

The constant drain on alloys is a core game mechanic. You must be constantly finding more, or making them from iron. Or everyone dies. It's what makes people compare the game to Frostpunk, which has a similar mechanic of having to constantly procure coal to keep a generator running. Or everyone dies. Earth got glassed by falling moon chunks. Note all the huge craters. The massive impacts blew off nearly half of the atmosphere and 5% of the planet's mass, boiled away the oceans, and the residual heat from multiple massive impact events left the average temperature at a rather unpleasant 81°C. Using explosives to get into something never ends well.
@bitbucketcynic
@bitbucketcynic Жыл бұрын
If you use up all the fluorite on the planet to make greenhouse gases (equal measures of NF3 and SF6, as there's a diminishing return the more you add), the planet's average temperature will increase to about +12°C and water levels will rise to about 200 meters of elevation, plus or minus 5-each of the separate little seas has its own individual sea level. Aside from lowlands being submerged, you'll have lots of large rivers too. Also, water flows downhill-if it looks like a river is going to cut through an important area, you need to entirely encircle it with dams to divert the water around it, with one outlet at the lowest point. Pay attention to the elevations in the bottom-left. Otherwise, rainfall is just going to collect within and flood it anyway. It's not really possible to save areas that are going to end up below sea level. Try to keep out the rising tide on one side, and streamflow is just going to fill it up from the other.

@@PhotonwindGaming Yeah. People may point to the Netherlands as an example of land reclaimed from the sea, but it only *stays* reclaimed because they're constantly pumping water out of the low spots and dumping it into the ocean (that's what all the windmills are for). Until some sort of water drainage and relocation system gets added to the game, I don't see any way to save areas doomed to sink. At least you can see where the oceans form on the map from the start, so you know to avoid those areas and/or use up resources in the low spots first. Also, trains have no trouble crossing rivers. The game assumes that if you can get to another planet, you can build a bridge.
@Pikkewynman
@Pikkewynman Жыл бұрын
@@bitbucketcynic I think a continuous maintainance pumping thing wouldn't be the worst mechanic. I do like that the rising oceans are something to plan around though, I just had no idea how much they actually would or the mechanics there.. 200m is good to keep in mind for the future. And lol at the bridges 😂 that's fair

Thank you for this guide, and thanks to the commenters adding additional tips! I'm a first time player myself after I got this game for Christmas. Decided I'd try a Russia-based run. Things will be slow-going for a while, but I figured for realism's sake I would work on consolidating control of the CIS nations and federate all the other post-Soviet nations, then once megastates are researched start reabsorbing them until the USSR's borders are restored. Things are going along okay, though my attempt to crack down and purge the bottom two control points in Russia were thwarted by three bad rolls in a row at 80% chance of success, followed by the other faction securing them, locking me out for the long term. How I hate RNG.

Having 2+ counselors advise on the same nation is diminishing returns, however different nations there is no loss of efficiency. Unifying countries is the best strat for a permanent advise counselor as it works on the whole nation. Also, ADM stat on GDP is false. I alters the GDP calculation used when generating investment points...it will hardly effect the actual GDP unless you have lots of dots in economy. Admin advise increases anything you have investment points in. You can see it in the description.

There are 3 organization-based traits actually, apart from Government and Criminal, there is also Sociopath. Just like Government and Criminal are opposed to each other in term of what orgs are available, Sociopath effect this but there is no 'counter trait' for Sociopath but rather not having it. Sociopath trait allows the councilor to control terrorist organization like ISIS and Al Qaeda, however having Sociopath trait bars the councilor from getting humanitarian organizations. Suffice to say Terrorist Orgs are mutually exclusive with Humanitarian Orgs.

@@PhotonwindGaming I didn't figure out precise math behind this bonus But from what I have observed getting one dot to each project and and three to one that you want to focus on will allow you to finish it sooner and increas your chance to became largest contributor in comparison to situation where you would contribute all your reasearch points to just one project But its just my causual observation I didnt made many experiments on the subject so I could be wrong Additionally from what I heard recently from one of KZfaq guids chance of unlocking engeenering projects related to reasearched technology is increased depending on how many points you have contributed to it So it would be additional reason to split reaserches (but i'm not sure whether it is true either) Overly game is pretty terrible at providing essential informations to the player (but considering its in early access stage still that much could be forgiven)
