Ferguson is one of the last of the true footballing hard men. The only player to be jailed for an on the pitch incident. Also, the way Americans harp on about guns for home protection. In 2001, two burglars broke into Ferguson's home. Ferguson confronted them and was able to detain one of them, who subsequently spent three days in hospital. The second man managed to flee but was eventually caught. Both men were sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment for their actions. In January 2003, Ferguson caught another burglar at his home in m the burglar attacked Ferguson, who retaliated. The burglar was hospitalised.

Charragher was right and Owen should have known R9 was always going to be the first name on the sheet, Raul was the clubs golden boy he was basically what michael owen was to liverpool and he was simply going to madrid because they knew he was on the last year of his contract and could get him for 8 million which would be the greatest backup striker for 8 million you could ask for but he should have known better if he really thought he was going to earn a place over the other 2. he let his contract run down to 1 year to see what big teams would be interested in him knowing a a big club could take him on the cheap and a team like madrid or barca might just say well its only 8 million why not? he could have signed a new contract long before it got to that stage if he really never wanted to leave knowing his price tag would have been crazy high again if anyone ever did want him, which is why he let it run into its last year to begin with, he wasn't shocked when madrid called him he left that door open for an entire year waiting and praying a call like that would come in knowing liverpool would have to take the small fee or risk loosing him for free a year later. van persie done the same thing with arsenal

Only player in British football history to be jailed for something he done on a football pitch. Disgraceful the way the Scottish FA threw him under the bus and didn't defend him. No wonder he stopped playing for the national team. The big man's a legend 🏴🇬🇧💪🏻

Rice is good but not great. He's definitely no Roy Keane. I'd take him if he was interested in playing for Ireland because we are not exactly bursting with talent but he's no duff, Keane, Robbie or Roy or Ronnie Whelan or liam Brady. These were World class and it was a pleasure to see them wear the green but Rice will never be on that level. It's a loss but not a loss that's going to cause any Irish supporters to shed a tear.
