I have a GO 610. Bought it new(open box) in 2019 from a local store. Been using it ever since whenever I am in Europe. Lifetime World maps, Speed Camera, Charging Stations, Traffic is the best thing one could ask for. Just connect to your phone for internet and you are good to go. I won't be switching to any newer model unless they have these perks built in.

Please don't put rechargeables in remote controls, even for demonstration. It's just silly to give people such ideas. Why? In a remote control, even with LSD cells, self discharge is going to be higher than actual power draw. Why is that relevant? Because with that kind of usage, you're looking at a handful of cycles before either you or the cells kick the bucket, making it a complete waste of money and resources. "But they don't leak like Alkalines!" you might retort. Well, they're not the right ones either. For this application, the good old zinc carbon cell is still the best choice. Dirt cheap, longest lasting, simple chemistry with abundant supply and not prone to leaking either - which is why it's always this kind of battery that is included with remotes (and most other low power draw devices).

I had a ChargeUp Pro 27k battery - same construction but bigger cells inside. After four years of use charging my phone and Microsoft Surface tablet while travelling, the rubber casing on the battery started to emit a sticky substance and cleaning it did not stop it re-appearing. I reached out to Cygnett in Melbourne for cleaning tips, and they volunteered a free replacement. Impressive customer service. Thank you Cygnett.

why would anyone.. want to close focus with binoculars..? i recently bought the small nikon 10x21 bins.... tiny..too small and the image was hideous... im sending them straight back for some versatile pentax 8x40.... which are pretty simillar to your olympus....... i also have the nikon akulon 10-22-50 adjustable bins.. very good at 10-12 mag... but the image quality drops off and needs re balancing if you zoom any further...... much like camera lenses the fixed focal lenghts are much better image quality

Actually, as much power as possible and as eco friendly as possible are not that different. If your batteries last longer, you need less of them. And I don’t think they they will stop the eneloop line of rechargeables. This is such a recognisable brand name and everyone compares to them.

That’s a fair observation. To be clear I guess I meant that we often see max power but without the focus on sustainability - though I may be wrong. This still feels good to me.

The problem is not the sensor size. Look at the Sony RX100 V: the same 1 inch sensor size, but with an f/1.8-2.8 lens. Meaning you get better performance than what you can do with a crop DSLR and an 18-55mm kit lens. But even this, I think, would not be enough. The issue is, who is going to buy an interchangeable lens camera? Even a small one. Or, especially a small one? People who are serious about photography, but also realise that the camera is just a tool, and it's all about creativity. So they value a small system because it's there; it's easy to carry around. But they like professional controls. A PASM dial, a command dial, etc. Because they enjoy the experience of photography. But only the V2, V3 and J5 even have a PASM dial. Let alone more control points. And they all still have the consumer user interface on the back, with a ring around four function buttons. The ring is also in an awkward place for adjusting anything while you shoot. Even the Pentax Q series is much better in this respect. It has much better controls, and a flash that looks funny, but is cool, and useful. But then that's Pentax; they know how to design a small camera and make it fun to use. In the end they lost out to 1 inch sensor compacts because they used 1/2.3 and later 1/1.7 sensors. But the Nikon 1 had the 1 inch sensor. I think they could have made it work. But the effort was.... just lacklustre.

0:52 No, that's the least important difference. The important difference is that the 533 can only be charged at a max of 18W, whereas the Nano can be recharged at 30W. I HATE attached cables. I wish the 533 had 30W charging. If it did I wouldn't even co sider the Nano. If the cable goes bad on the Nano, you've effectively lost an entire port. I also prefer to use premium cables with either LED indicators or a power display on the cable itself.

Hi, do you think Nikon will add anything more on the z50 with firmware updates. Like making the Af more reliable or adding some extra features like Log and more. Like is there any possibility of Nikon doing it since there are no more news of a z50 II coming soon.

I have to be honest. You won’t get many more features on the Z50, I’d expect that upgrades for that camera are coming to an end. Certainly no Log recording. To be honest I’ve been really surprised not to see more updates on potential DX cameras. Guess we will have to wait and see….

@@HamerReviews well i guess that's alright, the z50 is still a very capable camera. The model A1290 that I received from Amazon USA today has only 8 LED lights, not 10 as described in the video, and they are extremely small and hard to see. The User Manual is woefully inadequate. The USB-C cable that is included is only about 2 feet long and looks very flimsy. In June of 2024 the price from Amazon came to just $49 USD with a coupon, including the high capacity wall charger, so if it works and lasts, it was a good deal for a name brand item.

At the time of writing (May 2024) CFexpress cards are now half the price of XQD cards, and there is a lot more choice of cards in CFexpress. I've just ordered a used Z7 and I'm worried that if I order a CFexpress it won't have had the firmware update to enable these so then I'd have to buy a XQD anyway. I've been using the original CF cards for many, MANY, years and am rather annoyed they're all now redundant and I have to fork out more money with a change in camera.

I have an AW-1. I bought it as something better than a phone cam or low end point-&-shoot, and less bulky than my D800 with its associated glass. GPS for geotagging was a definite plus (something that the D and Z series cameras are oddly lacking) as was the weather resistance. I travel primarily by motorcycle, and being able to keep the camera in the tankbag without worrying about the occasional rain storm was another big plus.

I bought a J1 with 2 lenses at Costco when they came out, and its still one of my favorite cameras I have used. I was moving up from point-and-shoot cameras and I wanted the telephoto lens to take photos of kids on stage or on the soccer field, as well as basic travel and vacation photos. Autofocus was always spot-on, it took good photos in low light, and it was so small and easy to use. When I moved to a DSLR, it was more work and more frustration to get decent shots, and in some situations, it was useless. (Indoors, handheld, low light). Thinking about the J1 made me recently ditch my DSLR and go back to a mirrorless camera.

I hate subscriptions, but I am open to the idea of not having video features enabled and in return get at 25% discount on the camera, because personally I hardly ever use video. So if the R1 costs $7,000 and I could get it without video features for $5,250, that would be great for me. Personally all I need is a well built camera with a good sensor with low noise. I do not think having AI in camera will mean that you can remove objects from a photo. There is no reason to do that in camera. The AI will probably be used for auto focus and exposure. Hasselblad for example can already identify faces in a group. So for example you take photos of a football match of Inter Miami and you know that the photos of Lionel Messi sell best. Then the camera can identify him in a group of people and always focus on him. That comes very handy at a wedding, where the bride should always be in focus. AI is very good at that. An AI could also choose the depth of field automatically so that TWO people - for example the bride and the groom - are in focus. Or think about a wildlife photographer, who can tell the camera to automatically take a photo if a specific animal enters the frame.
@HamerReviews
@HamerReviews Ай бұрын
I hear you on the video stuff but honestly can’t see that happening. Your AI points are fascinating too! I do wonder if we will see more of that. That being said the Hasselblad stuff is done in camera right? If so super cool, I need to look into that 🙂
