Phil, this is author Alex Ruiz,I emailed you last year in the hopes that you could record an audio book of my novella “prince elko of ail” it is inspired by the oz books in a similar style. I still would truly love for you to record it and I believe your the best voice for it. As I wrote this story your voice was imagined as all the oz books that inspired mine had your voice. Please let me know if your interested or even if you aren’t interested a clarifying response would mean a lot!

I listened to your Oz audiobooks the past few months. Really got me through my job. Your voice is made for storytelling and im super grateful for your readings. Now im a super fan of the Oz books thanks to em hahaha. Lookin forward to when The Gnome King of Oz comes out! Glad to find this channel too! Someday i eventually wanna make a lil indie animated adaptation of the Oz books. You would 100% be my first pick to voice the wizard himself.

Given all the enjoyable Sci fi stories you read, would going into space be on your list (if cost wasn't an issue)?
@cajun545426 күн бұрын
Well, well, well. Going into space never entered my mind. I would be scared and excited though so I'll put it on there. By the way this video was meant only for my fellow psychonauts and I could not find out how to make it private so there it is! This was the first thing on my list, to see what psychadelics felt like and it was marvelous! At 83 it was one of the best things in my life. Maybe space would top that?

@@cajun5454 I'm happy you are experiencing interesting things. I don't normally participate in herbal 🌿 offerings but many years ago my father kept asking a drummer friend who was a connoisseur of things herbal. I received a gift of "the best product" for my father but my father said he was only joking and declined. I finally used the herbal gift on top of cheesy toast on a day I'd been using a hatchet to remove a cherry tree root. After the cheesy toast all my pain went away (using the hatchet jarred my body) and that was best I've ever felt in my life. The herbal product was indeed connoisseur grade. I haven't participated in herbal pain relief since then but now find myself with a cheese 🧀 habit.

I was in hospital after a road traffic accident, my father suggested I take up the A&E nurse's offer of morphine as he (my father) said it was guaranteed medical grade and it was free!!!!! What surprises me is I come from a strict family of non gambling, non smoking, non drinking. My father was naughty suggesting I try something as strong as offered but then again it was medically supervised and an interesting experience.

The rags collected in England were often made into "Shoddy", a term people use today to refer to poorly made items "Oh, that's shoddy workmanship". When researching the American Civil War, I came across a story about troops issued with uniforms made with Shoddy that disintegrated in heavy rain leaving the troops naked. The process used to make shoddy involved pulling apart (usually woolen) rags and mixing in non reclaimed wool thus creating a very weak fabric. Sorry if this is well known in America but here in UK the origin of rag wool/shoddy isn't well known. 🏴

On Wikipedia, search words are "Acoustic Jar". These acoustic jars were called "Echaes" (sounding vases). Bronze or earthenware. The gentleman regarded as the "Father of Architectural Acoustics" was Marcus Vitruvius Pollio, he lived in the time of Julius Caesar. There is a statue of Vitruvius in Verona, Italy. Leonardo da Vinci drew his famous "The Vitruvian Man" based on the concept of proportions developed by Vitruvius. The sounding vases were placed in between the seating in an amphitheatre and faced the stage. Alister 🏴

I'm a Millennial (born in '87), the modern-day Boomers. I never thought much of my generation, calling/being called one. I've heard it a lot, from my parents, who were from inner city Chicago (before the late 60's riots). I badmouth them a lot, because a number of them live by me. Some are okay, some are great. Many of them really are assholes. I never understood why: the African Americans, Latinos/Hispanics, Asians, Oriental, etc. are called bad names so much. I am not Jewish, nor from the eastern seaboard. After learning a lot, now I see why the Jews were insulted. History is both fascinating and painful.
