The chords at the beginning, before he gets to the tune proper, are so rich and surprising.

I’ve heard that cliche for most of my life that when jazz musicians of a certain caliber improvise during solos they essentially are composing on the spot. Well I’ve never bought into the premise. But for me Tristano was the exception. He doesn’t simply resort to chord substitution to enhance his lines. He instead seems to make a concerted effort to reimagine these standard tunes so that they take on a completely different tonal and harmonic character. And that ain’t easy to pull off.

I like the sound of piano in its purest form... no digital or computer effects. We can argue who's the best piano player that ever was. But that would be hard to do because they are all the Greatest in their own right. And one thing we All can Agree on is that; we like the sound of Piano. So let's just stick with that. Thank You!!

Here is Tony killing it live with Getz. Face it all the best jazz musicians come from Boston-like Tony and Chick. It's in the air, the water, the ground-come here and learn! We teach! Nice!

this could be the retransition phase to this song ---- Time's Lie ( is the correct spelling), but the Corea Fender Rhodes quotes are from= tell that this likely is " Sometime ago"
