I understand the need for taking them out, but they should never feel good about killing an innocent reptile!!

Wow Mr or Mrs Python, you are absolutely beautiful. However, there is no way I ever want to be near you anywhere. I will never understand what possesses a human to work with these beasties that can kill them in a heartbeat. Sorry Mr or Mrs Python - you go your way and I will go mine.

VERY interesting presentation. And I live nowhere NEAR Florida. I think the state should dress this crew a little more....flamboyantly. I mean, considering what they do for a living. You know, tan khakis. Some kind of distinctive head gear. Good PR. The public LOVES stuff like that.

I just read an article on your snake hunting process. The article was written by Natalie Krebs. The article stated nobody has come up with an effective snake trap yet. Maybe you could try scaling up the traps the USDA uses for Brown Tree Snakes on Guam. They use a round wire trap with inverted cones similar to a fish trap. Inside the main trap is a small cage containing a mouse and a potato. The potato serves as mouse food & water and will keep a mouse alive for weeks. Snake smells mouse, enters trap, can't get out, can't eat mouse, viola, captured snake. Upscale the trap size and try chickens or rabbits for bait, granted, it's labor intensive, you'd need to check the traps every couple of days, but if you set them on the roads atop the levies that surround the Everglades, big cypress, and the myriad of access roads all over South FL it just might work. Just a thought.
