Great post. Who stocks this 4mm mesh? Seems hard to find in Victoria

Most of our Steel Supply stores seem to be able to get it around here. You might have to ask a local store to source it. Most probably do not stock it.

Which type of mesh are you using? Thank you

We use 2 sizes of the mesh. 1200mm high - TREE GUARD MESH 75 x 75 x 4mm rolls are 28.5m long (could be suitable if you only have sheep) 1600mm high - TREE GUARD MESH 75 x 75 x 4mm 1200mm rolls are 28.5m long (need this height if you have cattle) Each roll we make 12 guards out of as you don't want the diameter to be too small for the trees to grow. We also put 3 star pickets in each guard.

Still driving utes and trucks over it? That's a no no. ATVs only. Grazing paddocks need quite a few trees, their roots drive deep and become nutrition pumps as well as provide shade and also work on the water table: a net gain for the loss of only a few square metres of soil. He probably does rotationally graze but no evidence of that. When another different species grazer (including fowl) follow the the beef herd good things in the soil tend to take off.

As you say, it is amazing what can happen with a bit of a longer rest. Thanks, Scotty, for sharing.

Looks fantastic mate! Love your videos, my wife and I are in the process of doing a deal on our first small farm all 42 acres! Gotta start somewhere but we shall be following regen grazing practices and so far iv worked out I can split it into about 28 paddocks maybe even more. Looking forward to starting our regenerative journey!
