Great idea using scraps

I think the second and fourth squares could even be turned on the diagonal (diamond shaped) for even more visual interest.

The orange made me think that all my Autumn scrap prints would be great for this idea. It's great for bright birthday prints too. Maybe a blue ombre for a seaside layout.

I have 2 different kinds of albums, Creative Memories & one from Hobby Lobby. My problem is I'm working simultaneously on 2 of my kids albums, which are the different kinds & I grabbed the wrong page & filled it with lots of pictures on both sides only to realize it's for my son with the Creative Memory book & it's on a page from the Hobby Lobby book. Which means it does not have the 2 metal tabs to connect them to my Creative Memory album. I cannot remove all the pictures & redo it without damage. Is there any suggestion you can give me so that I can use this page somehow & get it into the CM album? Has anyone ever created a "homemade" fix to these tabs?
