Dr. Steiner!!! He was my undergraduate academic advisor and I remember voting for Dr. Steiner as the faculty member that impacted me the most. No matter how busy his day was going, he would set everything aside and focus on the questions I needed answered. He was interested, asked questions, and gave me great guidance. @Alejandra Shamai How do you combat being in such large lecture classes? Do students feel lost in such big lectures? Thank you for this question. Hopefully we were able to touch on this by speaking about the faculty we connected with and how Royal’s philosophy professor never forgot his name in a large lecture class. But we also wanted to note that typically there smaller recitation classes that break the 3-400 student courses into 20-40 student classes at least once per week. Additionally, in many courses you will have a teaching assistant, and all of your professors will be required to have office hours at least once per week. But many of them are happy to meet with you in addition to office hours! Finally, the average class size at UK is 30-60 students. Those are just a few ways to combat larger lecture halls!
