Had mine for 4 years now. Including the furrower, hiller, 5" and 12" loop hoes, and the cultivator. Beginning my 5th season and all components are still in excellent working order. I garden a 1400 sq ft plot and this unit allows me to easily keep things as they should be. It sure beats using a hoe! Just furrowed and hilled my potato rows today. Heavy duty, quick changing and ergonomic. Well worth the money. It's very nice when something actually performs as well or better than advertised!

Cool video. I am into making some of my own tools that fit me. I made a new age (I call it that) scythe and I use the term scythe liberally. It ergonomically fits my swing and it is clearly not a scythe traditionally. I used a cut off piece of steel from a larger 90 degree ruler I bought from Lowes. I am asking if I can use one of those QEP diamond grit (bits) hand-held porcelain sharpeners (tile sharpener to smooth out rough edges) on a tool that is basically metal, not carbide steel. I have seen videos of people using a stone but I cannot find one around here that is shaped like those to fit into my pocket as I work. I like the QEP shape (and it is just $20.00). By the way, yes, my home-made scythe works excellent when sharp, which is each time I use it. It clears out stuff so quickly and quietly. I use it primarily to keep the height of my rough stuff around the edge of my property at a decent height, but much taller than grasses. Really works great. ALSO, very soothing to the mind and good exercise. - JEREMY in SW Michigan (August 2023).

I have this and it's just one of the many things that makes it better than any of the others. None of the other wheel hoes can bring all their tools along to the gardens. It's portable and it's not made of wood or weak rusty metals like they are. This one is stainless and solid and it's easy to move and carry around. And you don't have to bring wrenches either. It's farmer friendly.

I bought one of your wheeled cultivators. It is more manageable than any aggravated mini tiller. It is both user and plant friendly as I use it between the rows. I don't really see anything better when it comes to weeding a garden.

The hand hoe puts too much pressure on lower back. I don't know about this tool. If it needs the upper body, I should be ok.. This video is all action and just enough explanation. I love what you do for us. THANKS

Im close to retirement. I see Valley Oak has some excellent exercise equipment for multi purpose use. Im very familiar with guarding with the old high wheeled push plow. I could till and row up about a half acer in a day with a 5 hp front tine rototiller and a high Wheeled push plow in my youth. Needless to say I was spent. I was too tired to sleep. Every time I closed my eyes I would dream I was tilling and plowing. Would not trade those days for nothing in the world .

Looks good for dry loose soil. If it was me , I would be hammering, weld ing and cutting on that hiller blade. Needs to be shaped and angled a little more like a turning plow mold board.

I have those plows for my horses. Those are desgned to flip soil completely upside down. This is not for that. This quickly pushes soil against rows of corn and covers furrows. It works excellent. I have one of these valley oak hillers I use a lot.

@jaybailleaux630 11 ай бұрын
@@inharmonywithearth9982 I get your point . It would be very difficult for human power to push or pull a turning plow to turn top soil upside-down especially your more difficult clay soils. As a child back in the early 60s I'd watch my dad plow 21/2 acres with a horse and row up to grow corn. The horse died later and was replaced with an old steel wheeled Case tractor with fly wheel and hand clutch. My family was 50 to a 100 years behind in farming technology. Going from a horse to a gasoline powered tractor, we missed the steam powered tractor days.

What is the green tank in the background? For gravity watering (I don't know if I made that up or if that's what it's called - ha!)?
@inharmonywithearth9982
@inharmonywithearth9982 Жыл бұрын
The green tank is a Mantis composter. I had one just like it but I gave it away. It's rotating track cracked while I was turning it frozen at 12 below zero Fahrenheit. It never turned good enough after that so I gave it to someone who didn't mind. It cost nearly 500 if I remember. I just made a circle of free standing wire and throw weeds in there and the wild earthworms turn it instead of me.
