Thanks to the trash collection/recycling monopoly locally, trash collection "lite", I once again burn paper, and cardboard, occasionally plastic waste.as my grandfather once did! Everything is about money.

Ah Julian... every mountain biker knows flat pedals win medals! You need some proper flat pedals with the most vicious set of pins you can find, it's a mountain biking law I believe, and the only reason riders wear shorts is to show off their blood stained shins from unwise back pedaling while swinging a leg over. You mention being at school with a Matt Forest Green, well now you're a proper mountain biker you'll be aware of Markus Stitz, who does long distance bike packing videos. I was at school with his sister Norma you know. Popular girl...

A bike with a wide handlebar steers like a truck (sorry, lorry, not as in Hugh Lorry) while a bike with a narrow handlebar steers like a sports car.

Now I never thought I'd see the day when -that old giffer Hutchings- the Honourable Gentleman got himself a mountain bike - Excellent news! You can't beat mooching around in the woods, along bridleways and byways, and getting into places those pesky cars will never go, and just generally having fun. Go and have a pootle along a bit of the South Downs Way while the weather is good - I've not done it (I'd love to though...) but I reckon you'd enjoy a section or two of that. Personally, I love wide as a bungalow handlebars - 800mm is my go to width, but yes, you do have to be mindful of narrow gaps and also snagging on brambles, small children's heads, and other stuff like that. Looking forward to seeing you getting out and about on it, and good to see you back again!

I think perhaps you’re just not suited to van life because these are things most people consider before buying one. I have the advantage of being 5’1 and tiny and there’s just me and two small dogs. I’m also used to carrying around bags of poo! And of course, you don’t need to stay in a lay-by on a busy road. Saying that, I’ve not been on a proper trip in my Alphard yet so I may agree with you in a few weeks!

Love this! I had a fall and my Brompton bell is acting up. If I tighten it, it no longer rings. If I loosen it up until it rings, it becomes very crackly as I ride. Could it be damaged? Shall I get this new bell then? 😂

What people don't realize is that there are very few people, even in larger cities, who can work on the electronics part of an ebike. Electrical components will inevitably wear out or break, and most normal bike shops that are where you live won't touch the electric part of an ebike.
