not sure if I'm right but the mechanism could not adjust to new load easily on the fly. say if the pendulum is at the upright position, then adjusting for the compesation would take a lot of force.

Wow awesome video. Is it possible to completely or almost completely prevent the load from shifting. Say jumping up and down I want the load to stay centered.

So you could repeatedly raise heavy objects with very little energy cost. Put a scale on a platform that would calculate the balance. Could be done with a simple micro processor, a scale and a stepper motor to adjust it.

если менять натяжение пружины, в нижней точке положения груза, для балансировки груза то, устройство будет работать как гравитационный двигатель.

Hi Gene, I was wondering how you achieve constant linear counterbalance. I'm working on a project where I need to provide this type of counterbalance over about 40 inches of travel. Can your mechanism work for this much travel?

Probably a bit too late but he uses a cam with varying diameter to account for the increasing spring force while it stretches
@heartminer5487
@heartminer5487 2 жыл бұрын
did you look into his patent? it makes no sense how it could adjust to new weight and could still balance for 360. even in his patent description he says it couldn't.

@@heartminer5487 and how the spring didn't move at all while turning is really suspicious

@@Shadow__X the stationary cam+spring was a second stage balancer for counterbalancing the adjustment force for the first stage counterbalance. it doesn't connect directly to the pendulum.

Hey, look great.... especially the rotary counterbalance mechanism... I am just wondering how the counterbalance spring force is acting to the rotary weighted arm ? ...since the spring doesn,t move... I would love if you could let me know how it works... keep thinking about it :)

I think the way you develop the adjustment is awesome! I am interested in building a counterbalance mechanism. However not exactly how you developed your linear model. I would like to create a counterbalance mechanism that moves vertical and set in any desired position. Is there a reference on how you build your linear model that you could refer me to?
