I tried a few different ideas kn wikihow...none worked. Then i needed to use toilet...so i put on my yellow gloves and used an old margarine contaiber to mimic plunger...within 3 strikes it unclogged...just an fyi

i do like you did, but when i push the flush button their are water leaking between the siphon and and the toilet

Thanks for this - worked like a charm on my new low-flush toilet when it got stopped up. I didn't have a mop - just a mop handle, but found a few old dusters that I could wrap around the end to give the same sort of diameter and then wrapped them in a plastic bag. A frantic bit of arm wiggling, and then woosh...

Used this as a guide to fix a push button toilet that was slow filling. Does anyone know what the significance of the washer is? The one I've got has torn almost right around the outer ring but the toilet seems to be working fine. Thinking whether it should be replaced? Thanks in advance!
