one of the funniest headcannons i've heard about superman is that a lot of his enemies are aware he's also clark kent, but deliberately choose to not do anything with this information because 1) no matter the outfit, he's still going to be a challenge to take down, and 2) all that time spent as clark is time not spent fighting crime, creating an opportunity for all those criminals to have a better shot at getting away with illegal things. of course, this doesn't account for lois, but it's still funny.

In the comics and even the first movie its made clear why Clark can go through with this. No one believes that Superman has a secret identity. As. Lex says in the movie: "If I had that powers I would show them around!" Lex and the people around Clark just dont believe that he needs a secret identity.

The thing that no one ever thinks about is this... People aren't looking for Superman's secret identity, because he doesn't wear a mask. He's just Superman. Why would he ever be a normal person?

Luthor's ego and prejudice blinded him from this possibility, so he ignored that result, thinking the machine made an error. Ok so a lot of people say "Superman is boring". And maybe in a lot of other media he is, I don't know, I don't really keep up with much comic stuff anymore. *This* Superman was anything but boring, especially Clark. Instead of being a complete doormat pushover like a lot of iterations, this version of Clark felt like a real person, willing to trade sass with Lois like friendly coworkers do on a daily basis.
