I like the shot of Emerson operating the drill press I like all of the shots of Emerson but I prefer the ones where he doesn't acknowledge the camera.

So great, you guys are talented! I laughed when Brett showed the two drawers of the exact same tools haha. I work in a facilities department, and it's so true on having multiple drawers of the same tools

Brett have you considered that your father doesn't want you using his tools, so he keeps a separate drawer of like same tools just for visitors?

It's sad the way rv manufacturers made and still make rvs. Some have gone carpet-less, but the majority still have carpet and crappie materials. Nice video though.

Some of the most profound growth in my life has come from taking leaps of faith. Leaving comfortable incomes, a beautiful home, and taking my treasured family through a risky “ride” was scary at the time I first met you. My wife and I look back 9 years ago when we left our lifetime home for adventure and we wouldn’t change a thing. The journey, and not necessarily the destination, is the beautiful struggle. Learning to not let income define you. Learning that your identity is not defined by your job. man I’m so excited for you and your Family buddy. Always here if you need to talk

You two are braver than most. Good for you. Your explanation about overcoming the fear of financial insecurity is very relatable. I feel my wife and I have come to realize over the past few years that squandering our one life and the 18 years we have with our kids is a much greater fear than financial insecurity. Can't wait to follow along.

Now this is awesome news! I've been following along and telling my parents (motorhome enthusiasts) about what your family's up to, and you guys are about to live out one of their dreams. We still watch their cat twice a month as they travel to Yosemite or Sequoia and places like that haha. If either of you have any motorhome troubleshooting issues or advice, feel free to reach out and I'll see if my parents can give any incite. I remember when Blake and I came over to Lake Arrowhead to meet-up and meet Emerson for the first time, and we were all talking in the kitchen at your parent's house, Brett. I remember Megan talking about you two having a dream place to settle in, but still haven't found the perfect spot yet. I totally resonate with that, and it's super cool to see that you both have this vision together. So great, can't wait to see more!

Are you going to be adding any solar panels?
@kismetcrew
@kismetcrew 4 ай бұрын
YES! About to buy them actually. We're planning to put 400w of panels on the roof, a new 2000w inverter, charge controller, etc. A bunch of re-wiring as well, stay tuned! New 300Ah Lithium batter bank as well!

@@kismetcrew rad. Do you see yourselves doing any extended off the grid kind of camping or is more of a Travels With Charley kind of adventure?
@kismetcrew
@kismetcrew 4 ай бұрын
Yeah we've got big plans of all kinds, will fill you in more soon. We want the rig to be off-grid capable as much as possible, currently limited by funding at this point but we'll have made a good dent in it. We ditched the big fridge to a much more efficient chest cooler, swapped out all of the lighting to LED, and the new solar setup will be great. We'd like to get rid of the generator and be 100% solar but we can't afford to do that right now.

I want to know more about the decision for a composting toilet vs. black tank! Less weight? More eco-friendly? Easier to manage? Great video 😊
@kismetcrew
@kismetcrew 4 ай бұрын
Yes, good call! There were a couple of reasons we chose to go with the composting toilet over the standard. First and foremost, we really wanted to be rid of the (used) black tank! The idea of needing to find somewhere to regularly empty that, and otherwise carrying it around with us was not something we were too interested in, either. With the composting toilet, you can dispose of waste anywhere you would dispose of a used diaper or dog poo bag. It just felt so much cleaner and tidier, and something we could dispose of more often. We'll also never have any toilet issues within the RV, because it's all contained within the unit. I know many people don't want to deal with sprinkling the wood chips and emptying often, but that sounded so much better than the black tank to us :) I guess we'll see once we're on the road and actually start to use it! Again, thanks for calling this out and asking the question - we're trying to get better about going more in-depth about these things in the videos!
