Did you fill the old connections with silicone or just left alone?
@jonganzer7478

That's an excellent suggestion. I left mine alone as I knew I would put the stock pieces back on when I sold the truck, but perhaps some small, tough pill bags could be zip tied over the connections to keep them clean. Good thinking!

Too bad someone hasnt came up with a way to gut the DPF exhaust system and leave it in place and it just be there for in case inspection for which I am sure wont be long there will be emissions inspections required annually.

You fool! You’re supposed to cut the original catalytic converter between the rollover piece and drill and remove the CATS material and put it back on your truck after welding it back together! That way if there ever comes the time someone would inspect that truck the only way they could tell it was deleted is if they did a direct emissions test on it!!

But I'm sure it would be a helpful contribution if you created a video of yourself removing your exhaust system, drilling out your cat, removing all the "CATS material" inside and reinstalling it. 🤔 Looking forward to watching that!

@jonganzer7478
@jonganzer7478 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Justin, Just zip tie any loose connectors to the frame so they don't get melted on the new exhaust, they are not needed. If you want to take an extra step, wrap them in electrical tape so they will stay clean if you decide to reinstall the stock system.

Can this be reinstalled to pass emissions without plugging everything back in? Also will it pass after being tuned for egr and dpf delete, with this put back in place but not plugged in?
@jonganzer7478
@jonganzer7478 3 жыл бұрын
You can re-install it, but it will not function without being plugged in. The DPF needs heat to separate particulates from the exhaust. After it accumulates a certain amount, it SUPER heats the mass using the DPF fluid to vaporize it and release it back into the atmosphere. Without the connections, it can't do any of that. Of course, if you installed a new tune, you will need to reinstall the stock tune when reinstalling the DPF.

Great comment about not wanting to “roll coal”. I’m guessing it’s the EGR delete that creates the black smoke? I have no desire to bellow a black cloud everywhere. Very informative vid... thank you!
@jonganzer7478
@jonganzer7478 3 жыл бұрын
Hi James, Removing the EGR and DPF increases the exhaust particulates, but some guys then install a very rich tune, which creates a lot of black smoke when they accelerate.

Ive had my 2017 6.7 in to the dealer 4 times now. DPF regen frequency problems, DEF injector clogged, DEF tank lever sensor malfunctioned. My truck gets terrible fuel mileage. 13.7mpg doing 75 on the highway on my 50mi commute to work. My friends 17 dodge gets 18.3. Democrats implement all this BS. Its just causes us to expend more fuel.

Where is the glow plug installed, my def system fault , the dealership told me to replace that
@jonganzer7478
@jonganzer7478 4 жыл бұрын
Hi John, Diesel engines ignite fuel with very high compression, it is not ignited with a spark plug. But when the engine is cold, the fuel mix does not ignite well, so there is a glow plug installed in each cylinder head which is simply heated until it glows bright red for a few minutes each time the engine is started cold, then the ECU cancels the signal to the glow plug once the engine is able to run on its own. So the eight glow plugs are installed exactly where you would find a spark plug, at the top of each cylinder head. Hope that helps.

Man I need some advice. I deleted my truck, sinister, flo pro the whole nine yards. I bought a tune from ppei not knowing it was for a stock exhaust. I flash it once, idles like it ran outta fuel..i realize it was the wrong tune, so I flashed it back to stock. Packed it up, sent it back to ppei. Bout a proven diesel race tune from dirty diesel out of Canada. Installed the proven diesel 200hp tune. It threw codes p06a6, p2122, p0193, p0532, & P0335. Smooths out when u give gas but the codes are making it idle like shit. Reflashed it, same thing. Unhooked batteries for couple hours to reset pcm, flash back to stock, then flash the 200hp tune again, now only four codes, P0335 crankshaft sensor went away. Another guy online had 3 of my codes, changed all the sensors nothing changed, but it went away only after he took off his battery terminals. Do I need to get my pcm flashed to stock and if so, then does the tuner I have not do it fully when I install the “back to stock flash”. Any help appreciated

I apologize for asking something that you probably already explained but I want to be sure, if my 2014 has never had a tune or any remote tuner plugged into it, do I still need to go through the first part ie connect a tuner, make sure it's stock tune etc.? Basically just wondering if I can simply remove DPF and replace with pipe like you did without the programming part?
@jonganzer7478
@jonganzer7478 Жыл бұрын
Hi Eric, Sorry for the late reply (that's an understatement!) but thought I would respond in case anyone else has the same question. You CAN just replace the pipe, but with all those connectors disconnected, you will get multiple DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes, or check engine lights) and the ECU (engine control unit) will make many adjustments to compensate for the missing sensors. Not helpful.
