I have watched every one of your videos Jeremy that you have posted so far. Truly enjoyed the great work rebuilding "Eliza" the most but your efforts on the model T build and the deck are just awesome as well. Got to tell you the music you play in the background, I have heard it so much watching your videos, my mind can not stop playing it. I love it so much. It is so pleasing to the ear, for me at least. Thanks man for taking the time to post your work. Your are quite the man figuring all this stuff out like you do. And yes, use the iron fencing for the railing. It just fits right in. Hi Jeremy. It's shaping up to be a real sturdy structure. That fencing really works well. Think of the skill that went into making that all those years ago. I think it would look good just trimmed to size and fitted and a hand rail over the top. No more wood involved. it would just detract from the simplicity of it. Looking forward to more on this one. Mart.

When we purchased our de Tomaso Pantera I discovered it had an aftermarket Accel dual point distributor with only a single set of points installed. I got the correct points that have extra heavy point springs to support high RPM and got it working OK. Kind of a neat distributor in a way with roller bearing supports below and above the cam to hold it steady. I ran the points for about eleven years and had to replace the points about three times. It ran OK but changing the points on a mid-engine car was major pain, so I decided to convert the Accel distributor to a Pertronix Ignitor II system with a matching low resistance Flame-Thrower coil. It has a built-in rev limiter, multi spark, adaptive dwell and made an amazing improvement. I bought an extra Ignitor system to carry in the car if needed, but that was over fourteen years ago and no issues. Do not miss messing with the points for sure. There are several electronic distributor options available for 12v flatheads. Might be worthwhile to look at.

Bravo on your success! Odd thing on the points. When you set the point gap to .015 when the point rub block is on the high point of the distributor cam what is holding the points open on the low part of the cam? When on the low part of the cam is there a gap between the low part of the cam and the point rub block? Are the high points on the cam worn off some?
@mywaymanufacturing2817
@mywaymanufacturing2817 18 күн бұрын
@@supernovaVII it holds them open on the low points of the point cam. You have a good point if the high points were higher, it would then probably have more room for the low point. Maybe that point cam is wore off some
@supernovaVII
@supernovaVII 18 күн бұрын
@@mywaymanufacturing2817 It also could be the wrong points for the distributor, meaning the distance from the point rub block and pivot the pivot point and the distance between the point contacts and the pivot point is wrong for the cam. The wrong ratio between the two distances would impact how wide the point setting could be with your distributor cam. But it looks like the points for 37 - 48 were all the same.

I am going to have to pull the distributor again for the thousands time. You have got me looking at this differently . Thanks, and nice detective work! I wish I had a stock set of points to compare to. As I sit here thinking, that pivot point makes me wonder. Those are the points sold for a 40 ford . I’ve seen that those bolts inside the water pumps can sometimes be a mess to get out. Sometimes they tend to rust out. Definite design flaw. I wonder if a stainless steel bolt there would be a decent solution. I like how the deck is coming along. Also double check on the Explorer the fluids for automatic transmission, and PTU and rear differential for AWD models. Supposedly they should be drained and filled with new every 30K for them to last. Ford maintenance schedule is way too lenient on them.
