The panel and her colleague’s responses to her show who the fool is 😂 I love Catherine Tate and your response to this is equally funny! It’s a shame this humour wouldn’t be allowed today, as you stated, because it hilariously points out the problem, rather than shoving it under the carpet.

My Nan and I were born in the same place in East London. I never really got the accent and mannerisms (although up north, they swear I'm cockney), but she's a proper East End woman. This character is really similar to my Nan, except my Nan says much worse 😅 I've literally had her answer the phone or the front door, give me both barrels of insults, and then close the door in my face or cut the phone off. She means it lovingly, but you've got to have a thick skin to deal with her 😂

There is no bad Red Dwarf except maybe "Back To Earth". They kind of phoned that one in. But all the rest are good.

Well the the actors found it so hilarious that multiple takes were done. So, I suppose it is the individual/ receiver who will personally process/judge whether this was racist or not. 'Personally' (and being of mixed-race parentage, with black, white and mixed-race cousins) I did not think so. But has already mentioned it is how other individuals want to process it in their own minds and judgement. An example of this was many years ago watching 'Gimme' Gimme' Gimme' for the first time and telling a work colleague to watch the next episode the following week. The next day she came in saying how hilarious it was and could not contain her laughter. On the other hand, her (both caucasian) husband was so deeply offended, and left the room!. So, yes, it is how it is received, the individuals narrative of receivership or the message lost in translation... or all!.

Good old Chubby Brown never gets old, been watching him absolutely years. My Dad is from the North East of England like Chubs so of course I grew up with Chubs from around mehhh around say 8 maybe 10 something like that. I just remember everyone laughing their ass off in the living room to some guy in a funny suit, couldn't understand the jokes at first but as soon as I got older I did. He's 1 funny guy.
