This was really cool to see! Recently hiked the now Pike2Bike trail for the Rays Hill & Sideling Hill tunnels and wondered what they were like while in service. This really helps see what they were like!

Amazing that skyline in 1930. I grew up in Miami in the 60s and the skyline grew from the 30s a lot. I went to my sons apartment in the Beach in 2024 and driving back to Miami I told how sorry I was that Miami now its just another scrappy Chicago skyline. No longer the beautiful tropical Miami I knew in the late 60s.

This is amazing. I've never seen so much early railroading technology in one video. I didn't know those carriages had another covering for guests on top.

Looking at the downtown Miami skyline at the end it's amazing how the courthouse and the Freedom Tower dominated the skyline.

A friend of mine had some of these little pamphlets that he kept and comically roasted, his favorite was the one of Dick and Jane being thrown into hellfire, with little lines coming off of them, to show the speed and force with which they were being thrown. He was very angry when he loaned it to somebody and they lost it.

Many videos I encounter at KZfaq have awful, overbearing music. Along w the lovely scenes, the majority of the music chosen here is cheerful & not overdone. 1939 NYWF is one of my absolute favorite items of world history. An early moment broadcast on TV ( extremely few ppl even knew about tv , never mind households) introduced by either NYC mayor or US president

This film interests me much more today than it did when you first posted this. In the past three years, I've driven through three of the tunnels many times, and I have also walked through Sideling Hill and Ray's Hill tunnels. I really like seeing the approach and departure from those two tunnels, after trying to figure out what they looked like in the past as I stood there in the present.
