When governments are irresponsible and start unnecessary fires right before violent windstorms and BCWS takes off for 10 days leaving the locals to fend for themselves….THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! 176 people and businesses are trying to put their lives back together and we have here DICK ALL from the provincial government that caused this devastation. BC NDP EBY likes to sweep things under rugs and not take responsibility for this mess! I call this GOVERNMENT ARSON and we have no recourse to make this corrupt government responsible for these devastating fires! Give the firefighting back to the locals and communities to oversee their areas! Who knows best about the areas but the locals. The bureaucracy in Victoria sits in their ivory tower analyzing and using scenarios while Rome burns and BC NDP EBY fiddles and both areas have no clue what they are doing! The person responsible for this criminal action of burning out the North Shuswap should be fired and the good people of the North Shuswap needs to be able to sue this irresponsible government. If there is no recourse, INSANITY will continue with no change in negligent BCWS! EBY, quit hiding behind your lies and do what is right by stepping down as you have no clue what you are doing!

ics is basically telling you whos in charge of doing what. Its pretty simple once youve taken a bunch of the classes. FEMA has ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 all related to the same thing. local Emergency Managers, FIre Chiefs, Law Enforcement chiefs or sherrifs, all should have taken these courses and understand it.

Maybe change some of the building permit rules, and allow the lost properties to be grandfathered in so they can rebuild in the same locations..

A 5 YEAR OLD KNOWS is not necessary to start unnecessary backburns before violent windstorms. Fires are not fought by scenarios and analyzing and then leaving the area. IT IS DONE BY GETTING EVERY STRONG AND ABLED BODY PERSON AND EQUIPMENT TO FIGHT THE FIRES! It still necessary to admit you have done wrong to the North Shuswap and compensate those out of the 176 homes lost and 50 damaged to compensate those without insurance! It is necessary for the incompetent government to step down that caused this arson! The government has to stop patting themselves on the back for a false lying statement that this dangerous unnecessary BACKBURN saved homes. IT WAS NOT NEEDED. LET US CALL A SPADE A SPADE AND QUIT LYING ABOUT HOW BADLY BC WILDFIRE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS AND HIW BADLY IT IS GOVERNED! THIS ISN’T THE FIRST FIRE THAT HAS BEEN MISMANAGED….MONTE LAKE….FORT ST JOHN…..KELOWNA 3 TIMES…….KAMLOOPS…SHOULD I GO ON! LET ME SEND YOU SOME ASHES FROM MY DREAM RETIREMENT HOME AND I CAN-TELL YOU ALL THE TREASURES WE COLLECTED FROM OUR TRIPS, OUR FAMILY, ALL THE HOURS WE HELPED BUILDING OUR HOME, ALL THE MEMORIES THAT ARE NOW ASHES. WE HAVE SPENT HOURS ON SPREADSHEETS, DEALING WITH ADJUSTERS, BUILDERS, BIDDERS ON JOBS INSURANCE ALL UNNECESSARY BECAUSE OF THIS CARELESS DECISION OF A PERSON WHO IS A COWARD AND WON’T COME FORWARD! WE NOW SEEK COUNSELLING TO DEAL WITH THIS HORRIFIC MEMORY AND THE FACT OF THE STRESS GOING THROUGH THE FIRE AND GOING FORWARD!

DEAR CSRD ....PLEASE CHECK OR CONSIDER ....can Darren reynolds, and other land owners with losses such as his ....use the WOOFERS or an equivalent platform ...to host folks on their land ...in exchange for help in fixing things up, rebuilding, re-homesteading, rebuilding fences .....could we organize a large volunteer platform for the next 4 to 6 years ...where folks from other areas can come and volunteer ....in exchange for accomodations...for example, if a landowner has a trailer/camper or a room set up on their property, they could host a volunteer ...to come and stay for free on their land...in exchange for helping remedy the fire damage on their land and get things back up and running ...maybe work from 10 to 2 ....or 8 to 12 ...and get a nice free breakfast and lunch from the landowner ....and then havve the rest of the day off to explore the BEAUTIUL shuswap .....or .... volunteer 3 full days or any term you agree to...and stay for an equal amount of time as a vacation as well .....im sure landowners could advertise on craigslist...however..it would be great to set up a platform ,,,and ..if possible ...references needed .... this could help to get some skilled labour up into the area for free too ...for some of the hardest hit folks or folks without insurance ..... can we set up some sort of matching platform .... or a platform where landowners could at least post who they are, how they were impacted, and what they need ...and volunteers could reach out to them directly, and land owners could vet their own volunteers at their own discretion

"We acknowledge we have a political agenda" How about the 14km of napalm you idiots dropped causing mass devastation. Does that kid with a bull ring have any experience? The only concern for any of us in this area is the use of napalm to invoke emergency powers and tyranny.

True. My father and mother’s home was destroyed years ago. A very stressful event for them. Asbestos was used back then. Trees can drop suddenly and ash pits are extremely dangerous too.

Hoping you got the near new response truck out in time along with the equipment. Fire came down from the north? the area looks almost untouched EXCEPT for the fire hall .A decade ago my brother a long time volunteer was showing me the new truck fund raising had bought saving over years, and we got the call to a slash pile. On it in moments.

really? lets get to truth.. the people KNOW about the govt man made DEW directed weapons everyone i know is talking and in public forums and media pictures and films out, pre sprayed accelerants, to beams seen being used from lytton to scotch creek shuswaps okanagan to maui and paradise california. this is insulting to any professional with intelligence at this point. lets talk about the radiation and chemical exposures inhalants- DUMB govt bases - excess now affecting us and our clients and threatening people depriving them from supplies and autonomy . reports skin rash to massive headaches seizure like and contaminations airborne fast tracking cancer like illnesses. the first nations klan mothers are appalled and see this as an act of war and the criminals for what they have done to our waters, peoples, and animals. even chris sky to rebel news is exposing this war crime.

Not meaning any disrespect. There has been phenomenal loss. However while we are all focused on the loss of properties and communities... Let's take time to see from a different perspective... That rather than fire ravaging the land, and threatening homes and a way of life.... Put yourself in different shoes.. In a different time... That white man, not fire, swept through this area, settled it and drove out its natural inhabitants... Regrouped them, took their homes and hunting lands, and told them where to live. Fire has no conscious, and no intent.... However, as settlers, we do have choices in how to move forward. We still answer for today, and strive for reconciliation... Please take this moment while threat and loss is still on our minds.. To even begin the thought process and conversation of community loss for the 1st nations, who's land this was and is. And let's continue forward in a path of respect that accounts for where we are today. Huge regrets for those who have lost homes, Cabins, homesteads, businesses, and land. May we all walk forward more united and aware of each other by this experience. Huge gratitude and grace to those community members who have stepped forward to help one another... Let's ensure that community spirit continues to stretch and reach those needing help to rebuild... It is not over, it is the beginning of community coming together to rebuild homes and businesses... Let's not leave anyone behind. Can we set up farmstays in a structure of rebuilds instead... Bring many hands to lighten the work? Or.. It's such a beautiful area.. What about inviting tradesmen for a. Work-play vacation? Work 7am to 1pm.... Wiring, plumbing, building, etc.... In exchange for community food and accommodation.. And get tradespeople in to help people rebuild.... Especially those hardest hit in income brackets unable to bounce back.. And those without insurance...

Relative has an up to date CISTERN in LEE Creek as the base is water saturated shale. Wonder if a few months from now that surface water collector is going to be contaminated. At least his compound was spared. Many neighbours lost everything.

I was surprised the US in Lahaina was to let large members of the public into the fire zone within two days; propane tanks can still be hot, blanketed by ash, and then blow. Relative was a long time volunteer with the Scotch Creek Fire dept. (volunteer). Hope the truck was saved. He was showing me the result of the fund raising over several years for a new truck and we had a fire response to a slash pile just up the highway above several homes, but easy access from the highway. lesson learned.

Some folks with damaged properties may be open to firefighters using a drone to capture footage of their property and aerial footage of their property..... That would be safer and faster... It wouldn't work for everyone, but for some people it might suffice... And property owners could use the footage foand still shots for their insurance claims too
@leslie6189

I meant versus all affected needing to visit the area... Some might be able to wait more easily if they could at least get access to ground level and aerial footage of their exact property
