Hey man , if I wanted to clean the lens I still need to remove the logic board ?

My ps5 disc drive sounds like it wants to try and spin up a few times, but gives unreadable disc error. Won’t read ps5 or ps4 games, it a dvd movie played. Would you recommend I replace the laser? Cleaning it with alcohol did not help. Thanks!

my ps5 went out during a storm. Thought it was the power supply, tested it and it worked fine so I'm not sure what could be broke on it.

Mine just had a battery change and when i try to turn it ON it only blinks once showing orange light but it will not TURN ON ,it is new and original battery and no idea could it be drained

One thing I am picking up, is do not fuck with the rsx or EE. Clean out the system. Just do not fuck with them. Too many cases of people popping off the plates and it breaks their console. Just go in and clean, do not disturb the original bins with the paste … my two cents.

I would also say it would be wise to replace the CMOS battery with a high quality replacement, just since you already have it apart and it is super easy to do while you are in there. Also your dog is super thirsty lol, he was drinking that water forever lol.

Well, I dunno if mine had this very issue - mine would just turn on and then off right away. Turns out the power supply was broken and needed replacement. Thank goodness I could afford sending it for expert repairs instead of mindlessly wasting time and money trying to figure out whatever it was that it had.

Nice, that's a very clean RSX delid. I've seen people poking around in there randomly with metal tools and using too much force, causing all sorts of damage. In reality, heat is what does most of the heavy lifting. With enough heat, the cement adhesive will melt and will give out easily, just like in your example. The RSX is the component that benefits the most from a delid because it's the one that heats up the most and that is the most failure-prone. I will be attempting it on my second PS3 very soon.

Thank you @fasttech, I have this model, your guide helped me get all the way through, no extra screws left behind. Put Arctic MX-4 with Arctic thermal pads. It is whisper quiet now.
