Don't bother. The tiny set screw corrodes quickly and makes them damn near impossible to get off. Adding any kind of thread lock glue will just make them even more impossible to get off. Been there, done that. I actually put antiseize on mine to stop them from corroding next time. Once they are tightened, they will not come loose.

Damn, I am curious why this was not required for the stock exhaust setup.

@@thedevthing Because the stock is exhaust doesn't have the ability to move laterally beyond the small amount of flex in the rubber hangars. The AWE exhaust for my Audi also came with those little collars as well and I didn't install them at first and ended up with the same problem as you. So yes, I did install them after the fact just like you did.

It’s been a while since I made this video. It’s not a car I would put my $$ on today.

Both really. It was not the look I was going for and during Covid it was just a pain to get any shop to do any work. And my impatience got the better of me. I hindsight, I should have been patient and kept the car. 😃😅

@@thedevthing sorry but can you elaborate more because I am in the market for a 997 GTS and I want to get coilovers and BBS wheels. That is the look I am aiming for and I saw your video. Thanks

@lapchoine6600 it depends on how low you want the car to be. I just made a mistake where the coilovers I got were lot much lower than the stock ones I had. I wanted more low. Then with the wheels and tire, the wheels are beautiful, but the tire selection is now I would go again. I want a more stanced look like how Eric has in this video. My setup had beefy tires that was cool at first but it started to dislike how bulky the tires looked front and rear. If I was to do this again, I would get coilovers that went extra low and tires that’d didn’t have massive sidewalls. I might not do 3-piece wheels again as the maintenance was a headache for me 😃😂

@@thedevthing Ok good to know that Bilstein coils cannot go much lower. So you were maxed out? Also, your wheels looked good so what were the specs you went with? You could have gotten a lower offset wheel and maybe go with 315/30/19 tires vs 325/30/19? How was the front tires? Thanks again for your help on this and wish you had more video on your GTS!!! Also, I am loving your vlogs by the way!!

It’s really unfortunate, they also had fake exhaust tips. Thankfully they are rolling back on that. But they have stopped making fun affordable sports coupe or sedans. Now they seem to be fast, but takes fun out of the equation. I think they will come back to its roots. They are going through a lot of design churn it seems.

I think the point he is trying to make is that there is a $$ delta between the M2 and M3. That delta can be used to mod the car, which many find interesting and fun to do. Alternatively you can max out your budget on an M3 and not mod for some time. 😃🙌 His M2 is a wrap, now yeah we have new colors which is cool.

Thank you for watching the video. It was all a matter of timing. Mechanical components impacted to ensure it’s a solid car and then the rest are refresh type replace or maintain type work. 😃🙌 The coilovers and wheels would make me forget any gremlins I have to face with the car. It’s more incentive to keep up with the maintenance. 😃😂 that’s just me

@@thedevthing couldnt agree more! thanks Prabhul! in this case, the car is mechanically functioning very well and just needs upkeep. not having AC work is not an issue for me, much prefer to put that investment into the handling and appearance of the car and cruise with the windows down, fresh breeze rolling in 😎
