This is called Vranjanska Svita and comes from Vranje in southern Serbia. You can see the Oriental influence in the costumes. Here is a better video of the same dance: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7-Dl7pymr6aYas.html

for the uneducated and for the haters; Yes it is a serbian dance cultivated in south serbia, vranje. Turks weren’t allowed to play music or dance because of islam and turkish women especially weren’t allowed to move like this. Even clothing was very distinguishable between serbs and turks for class reasons during colonial times, even if the pants were similar from its basic concept the clothes and everything about it was either serbian or turkish as the turks (colonialists) didn’t want to be confused with serbs or their rank either. So no, it is serbian. It would be helpful if serbs from serbia would inform themselves on traditions from South Serbs, Bosnian Serbs, Krajina serbs etc. from all our regions and land and not just pass it off as non serbian when it’s not from central serbia.

PLS STOP CALLING THIS A BOSNIAN DANCE. BOSNIAKS NEVER DANCE THIS FAST BUT HAVE VERY SLAVIC AND NOBLE MOVEMENTS. THIS IS A DANCE FROM EASTERN SERBIA WHERE A LOT OF SERBS AND GYPSIES LIVE. THIS DANCE ITSELF IS A MIX OF BULGARIAN, TURKISH AND GYPSY STYLE. WATCH A REALL BOSNIAN DANCE AND YOU’LL SEE A DIFFERENCE : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aNh2qZN10rusgIk.html

one word from Serbia.. yes this is dance music from southern Serbia and this is formally Serbia.. but that type of dance is STRONGLY colored by Turkish conquerors, In every respect, including the style of dressing. If you want to see how a real Serbian, Sumadian, dance game is played .. see other clips. This smells a lot like Turkish and a part of our history (over 500 years) when we were under their occupation.
