Oh boy, the problems. 1: Nobody asked for this. 2: For 'representation', they decided to change the ethnicity of Snow White, but refused to hire dwarf actors for the dwarves. 3: The ethinicity change of Snow White, not just from the original movie, but the original fairy tale where she is called snow white because her skin is white as snow (and before everyone gives me crap about this, I mean this as a simple fact. I would also not support a white actress playing a live action version of Pocahontas, Mulan, or Tiana, as examples). 4: They decided to change the premise from finding true love to finding herself as a leader, according to interviews, again changing the story from the og movie and fairytale. 5: Disney has a god-awful track record with live action adaptations anyway. So, yeah. Huge ampunt of controversy for a movie that, likely, will be a load of crap anyway.

why does her ethnicity really matter? do you really care that much about a snow white remake that she can’t be played by an actress with slightly darker skin? and in terms of the story, wouldn’t you rather it be different from the original so it actually has a reason to exist and isn’t just retelling the original story except worse in live action?

@milkman2907 OK, let me ask you then, if a white American actress was cast as Pocahontas in a live action version, would that be OK? Or as Tiana in a live action Princess and the Frog? Or if one had been cast as Mulan? If it works one way, it has to work the other. And, honestly, Snow White is the only one that bugs me as it's literally the reason she has her name. It's like making black beauty with a white horse. Or doing a movie about Blackbeard with someone clean shaven. It just doesn't make sense, lol. As far as the story change goes, no. I think most Disney fans, myself included, are sick and tired of our childhood classics being ruined. If you're going to do a remake, do a remake. If you're going to do a retelling, don't call it a remake. But the original story has been a classic for over 200 years, so I think it's good to leave it.

The first movie was meaningful, and had purpose in some ways, there is no extending it because there is no more story, no more drive or purpose, now they’re just making it trying to extend it as far as they can, but I can already tell it’s going to be bad just because of there being an active villain.
