Currently falling down an Ultravox and Midge Ure rabbit hole and so glad this little snippet popped up. Midge, your mum sounds like an amazing woman. You followed your heart and gave us your soul, endless thanks.

WHAT?!? I was in living in England then. But, now I have to see who being advertised to perform on Jan 20th, 2011, because if they said Midge was showing up... I would have been there!

The history of Midge-san was also very interesting. And in the image, the city of Glasgow that Midge-san describes is beautiful and made me want to go there.

Record sales have not been higher since the 1990's!

For the UK : the vast majority of music sales are now in streaming. ( for 2023 : streaming £ 2.2bn , physical £311m ) . CD volumes continue to fall steadily - though sales value is helped by inflation and deluxe reissues

Knew Midge back in the 'Salvation' days (pre Slik)... a nicer guy you couldn't meet. You could sense even back then he would go places.

Should have been a bigger and more acclaimed band. Shame that 1) their album's production was horribly muddy when it needed to be crisp and 2) "Ghosts" wan't the hit it deserved to be.

So bad for him. I guess he was too cock-sure of the win to just back down. He FAFO and lost the race. Too arrogant and too stupid!

Silk never last long as a band. Forever and ever jump on glam rock trend when it faded same with reqiurm prog rock was fading tge 3td single tge kid a punk trying to jump on the punk bandwagon but people heard the other singles confused the audience and fan base

Seriously, recording the screen at an oblique angle & nowhere near the speakers, which are turned up too high to compensate? You could have clipped a screengrab of it in several easy ways.
