In many of his movies & on stage Tony Randell proved he was a gifted actor. But in The 7 Faces of Doctor Lao he showed every one in and out of the field of entertainment how to absorb the personage of any charactor along with the correct language skills. Telling an actor you cant play an any part because you're look is not correct in most (not all) cases is thinking with a limited mindset.

At the 29:40 mark, Spike said the people in the audience when Malcolm was shot in 1963 practiced a week bf what they was gonna do, then he said "get ur hand outta my pocket" the exact words that were said right bf Malcolm was shot. Did anyone else catch that, and if so wth??!!

the despicable double standard of the Jewish Founders exhibit, blaming only the Jews for that problematic past, is unacceptable

At 14:25 he misquotes the poem when he says "there is no *life*" but we can clearly see on the actual card projected it says "there is no *death*" ...im baffled at such an obvious mistake and my gut says he had to have done this on purpose. Its a 4 line poem, its vocabulary isnt complicated, and he clearly is an expert on all things related to it. Why did he do that?? i cant accept that "he just made a lil whoopsie daisy, sometimes ppl make mistakes, ur overthinking it." i find this "accidental" rewording of a mysterious little poem to be very sus. Possibly part of a cryptic message of sorts. This guy makes major films that definitely contain narrative codes already. Its entirely possible these narrative codes exist within talk events such as this like any other art or media...

So glad to see you ladies ,there. And also very impressed with the fact the your Aunt Dorothy's gowns are safely at the Academy Museum in LA. Not many people know this but your great-grandparents lived and worked in Winston-Salem,NC where Fayard Nicholas was born. And if I am correct, they attended a private all black catholic prep school in East Winston,NC. The school is no longer ope.n but I did have the pleasure of seeing this many years ago when I worked as a librarian for the Forsyth County Public Library. Please keep up the good work.

But "Dr. Lao" changes races. No matter what human plays him, he is going to have to adopt the characteristics of another race. If a Chinese actor played "Dr. Lao" he would have had to do "European Face." Are we now at a place where we are so regimented by ethnic/gender ideology that no actor can play anything but their own familial background? The actress who played Maria in the last version of West Side Story was half Columbian/half Polish and not one bit Puerto Rican. Was that okay? How far do we want to go with this? Can only gay actors play gay parts? Well, then can only straight actors play straight parts? Do we want to exclude anyone gay from playing anyone straight? I don't mean to be disrespectful to the speaker or to anyone else. I'm just wondering how we navigate such a nebulous territory.

It's rather fascinating to me how people forget what film and theatre are all about. It's called "acting". That means that anyone can take on any part and play any role, any race, any sex, any age, anything. That's why make up was invented/developed. And now, with digital make up, anyone can play anyTHING. Any actor could conceivably play an animated chair or car, anything, provided the script is well written. That's why it's called ACTING.

She was in this movie Babylon (2022), as Lady Fay, or in part her as a character. That is why i'm looking at this video. I feel sometimes ashamed about how rich white men have always controlled what should be considered normal, preying on minorities or just about anybody else than white. Critical Race Theory has become a banned words in the American political sphere and the meaning lost like they did with Woke.
