Miss these days when Alabama was a complete team

The two times High Freeze beat BAMA at Ole Miss were flukes. 2015: 5 turnovers? Come on. Let’s quit trying to spin this as Hugh Freeze is some elite coach. 2014: The year Bo Wallace played out of his mind and despite outplaying them in almost every stat, turnovers were the difference. I’m not a stat or moral victory guy but they do tell a story. Just like when South Carolina beat us w Jake Garcia. Dude played out of his mind and dropped dimes all day. Peyton Manning couldn’t have played better. Vs BAMA teams being their best and players play the game of their lives. Flukes do happen. But Freeze isn’t 1/3 of the Coach Saban is. Watch the games.

If you find the variance, for any given team, of points per possession, and you assume that the central limit theorem holds for all teams, then you can also use the t-test and confidence intervals. For instance, the variance is usually greater when teams play on the road; you can then find the confidence interval that a visiting team will likely score greater than the home team, assuming you’re only looking at this statistic.

Fornette was never in the same class with Henry. Fornette has sub par vision.

Yeah it's not like Fournette averaged more yards per carry (6.5) & yards per game (165) than Henry (5.6 & 148). Not to mention he did that with a worse o-line. You sound stupid dude.

I was at the game when they beat Alabama in Tampa the following year. OJ Howard was open all night. Actually, most of Alabamas receivers were open, but Jalen Hurts wouldn't turn his head past his first progression. Alabama easily left 21 points on that field. If only Tua could've been the QB that year instead of the Georgia game.

Nice stat. Now I wonder how someone could predict the amount of possession in a gane
@PrimeTideSports
@PrimeTideSports Жыл бұрын
To predict the amount of possessions in a game, you can look at each teams average possessions per game. If you want to get more precise, you can look at how many seconds it usually takes for each team to complete their possessions on offense (and defense).

I want to say the NBA should make separate category for play in game stats like they do for the playoffs. This way, we know how much players scored over their whole career in official NBA games. This is easy to see, since they put it in neither season or post season stats. It is an official set of games, which determines who makes the playoffs, not an exhibition game, which determines nothing in the regular season nor playoffs.

Does anyone remember? Is this the game in which Jalen Hurts took a hella shot in the backfield, and then won over his team and his fanbase by bouncing right back? Does anyone remember that moment in the same way that my whiskey-besotted memory does?

Dominance score is adjusted for opponent strength. For example, beating a top 5 team by a touchdown is a much better performance than beating a winless team by a touchdown. What dominance score does is it quantifies the difference between those two performances, and many more. The opponent rating is their average margin of victory, when adjusted for strength of schedule. The dominance score is simply the margin of victory added to the opponent’s rating. I came up with this stat, but I am sure someone else has made something similar.

The pace of play is always changing in the NBA, changing how much is scored (and other stats). The ELAM ending would change things, but it wouldn’t be any different than the change that already happens.

Nice video. This stat is overlooked a lot in basketball, eventhough it tells a lot about a game or someone's performance. I think it's kinda comparable to soccer's goal efficiency stat that's used a lot more.
