I'm very glad to see this posted. The Faulk case is a matter of historical importance and it is little discussed today. One aspect of Faulk's behavior in this whole horrible saga that has long baffled me was why Faulk ran on the middle of the road slate to begin with. It was agreed in the seminal meetings of that group that no one should be on the ballot who might give ammunition to AWARE. There were some potential candidates who voluntarily did not put themselves forward to run on the slate for exactly that reason. Faulk was intimately involved in all this and had to know some of his previous activities would draw suspicion. At the very least, his involvement with "People's Songs" and with the Henry Wallace campaign would draw attention. Now, before I be misunderstood let me declare that the very fact that he would even need to be concerned about such associations is an outrage. He had every right in the world to engage in those previous activities and they ought to have had nothing to do with his running on a Middle of the Road Anti-Communist Anti-Blacklist slate. Yet a pragmatic reality needed to be faced: the slate had to be 100 percent free of anything AWARE could use to distract from the issue, which was the getting AFTRA to stop aiding the blacklisters and start aiding the blacklistees. Faulk blew up the whole project. His heroism in taking down the blacklist seven years later ought to inspire deep gratitude. It sure does in me. But I wonder if the New York AFTRA blacklist might not have ended earlier had the Middle of the. Road slate been allowed to grow to maturity instead of being strangled in its crib by AWARE which got to the baby due to Faulk's careless babysitting.

He comes off as playful, goofy, free spirited. It is hard to believe he went through with it, knew what to do, and made out so well. Kim Hunter was brainy. They were a good team.

Lefties hate Cohen for the same reason they hated Nixon --- they were both right about Communists in our government in the late 40s. And lefties destroy people, like they did Cohen and Nixon and are now trying to do to Trump. But of course they come up with phony excuses other than their real reason.

There wasn't one song that made it to "mainstream" radio as a crossover hit the way others did. But it doesn't take away from the show's enduring and endearing run as a genuine crowd pleaser. I remember as a kid seeing Carol in the original, and enjoyed the album many times subsequently.

Opening vid w Parker valuable listening but static so thick as to be distracting. It may be an expensive process to remove the static completely but a $200-300 gate limiter would knock out most of it. A good one will cost several thousand. Thanks for bringing this to YT.

im sorry you are disappointed and thats what stands out to you. no one else has ever complained? i make very simple videos as well. unless you are talking about the static on the recordings? not all my recordings are like thaT? THS IS HISTORIC AND ALL THERE IS TO BE HAD?I am not fussy like others? if you cant enjoy it? becaUSE OF THAT? YOU ARE LOSING A LOT OF RECORDINGS to be enjoyed? because of this distinction? IF YOU TRY LISTENING TO THE MUSIC AND BIRD HIM SELF? not the quality of the recordings? MAYBE THAT MITE HELP?I Am not here to "clean up "old recordings ?I am here to spread all musics. try another ch? if you are uncomfortable with this type of recording? I understand how you feel I would love to have a better copy? to play for all of you? but there was a strike at that time ? i think it was said to be recorded on "PAPER RECORD"? and it was very rare to have these. so I chose them as well? there is a way to clean them up but thats not really my biznez or interest right now. its getting all this out to as a many people as I can? I have many old antique recordings as well I enjoy them. but know they are buried in this acetate peelings? if you concentrate on the scratchiness of these recordings thats ALL you will hear if? you concentrate on the MUSIC then its possible to put that scratchy SOUNDS MORE IN THE BACK GROUND? JUST A SUGGESTION? THERE ARERGONNA BE OLDE SCATCHY RECORDINGS. I suggest you dont listen to them. if thats what you are listening for? is a clean 2024 style recording cause? you are not going to find it in these earliest of birds "cherokee" recordings c 1942-4 and there was a record ban cause of materials for the war? or a union strike?
