I hope you are not still suggesting Clover. Clover just got into my pocket for $4200 without ever performing a single transaction. I will be doing a video to explain in detail, but in short, my clover duo customer facing terminal bit the dust less than one month out of the box. The ISO who is supposed to be my rep then informs me the equipment is one month past warranty and Clover will not back it up. Understand, we had just unboxed the system and had not even finished inputting our menu. Clover also designs their machines so that if one component goes bad you have to buy an entire new system. Everything, even our printer became obsolete when the customer facing terminal went bad. This is 2200 bucks because one single device was bad. I trying to get it worked out, we found Clover and Streamline Payments had charged an additional 2000 in fees for the 13 months the equipment set in a box. Clover and Streamline Payments transferred me five times, not knowing why or who was charging me for a service never used. To my fellow small business owners, I would strongly suggest you run from Clover as fast as possible. It appears they could care less about their customers, and their associates are just like them. Their customer service is horrible and every call I made for assistance was routed to India. Nothing against the people of India, but I could not get someone who seemed to care or speak clearly enough to understand. When you are having a problem at your business you want clear and precise technical support to get you up and running. This was not the case at all. We trusted Clover and our ISO to help us with our business but they sold us junk and disappeared when we needed them. If it says Clover or Streamline please take my advice and run away quickly.

Dude, to include Square in a top 5 for restaurants is insane - Revel, Squirrel, Aloha/NCR, Infogenesis, Oracle/Micros all lightyears ahead of square as a guest facing POS solution. Nuts

HI Gaz, as mentioned in the video, I think it's a great entry level solution for small restaurants just getting started, plus I like they offer a free version.

So we have an Asian restaurant that offers family-style meals. Customer customizes their order a lot even though we have over 150 items. we also take orders for delivery, and catering service (seperate menu). What is a system that will allow us to control delivery from different service, online order and tableside ipad handheld ordering with customizes order ability ?

Hello, you might take a look at TouchBistro. I know they can handle pretty complex restaurants and they have tableside ordering capabilities with the iPad. I'd recommend to get a demo to ask questions and to make sure it has all the functionality that you need.

Hello, I would say Toast is best suited for restaurants over Clover, in general. Toast offer a free starter kit and a pay as you go plan to help businesses get started. Clover is going to costing you a little more, but the turn around time to get Clover setup and installed will probably be faster than Toast.

Great question, these systems should all have the ability to adjust tax options and setup up your tax rates. I know that Toast is integrated with DAVO which is a 3rd party provider that automatically sets your sales tax using the sales data and when it's time to file, it pays your sales tax. Either way, if there's a system you're interested in, get a demo to make sure if has exactly what you need so there's no surprises.

I used Toast in the past and it was easy to use, reliable and the few times we needed customer service we received help immediately. We now use Harbortouch. It crashes constantly, and customer service is non-existent. When our contract is up in October we are most likely going to Toast. I know we are not staying with Harbortouch.

Trust me when I say you want nothing to do with Lavu Integrated Payments. We have been running with Square for years with no issues yet we had to go with Lavu with our new venture and since we had to use the Lavu pos then why not make it easier and use LavuPay as well. Holy crappola we're we wrong. It goes down once or twice a week, they have backcharged us for the past two months and when we ask why we hit a stone wall over and over. Their idea of customer service is like pulling teeth and when you ask it to be escalated you get contacted once by a supervisor Michelle Smith and she never returns your calls or emails. Horrible company to do business with, HORRIBLE!!!
